Genesis 1 and 2 don't seem to be in sync with the account of creation. Am I reading this wrong?

Genesis 1:11-27

Genesis 2:4-9

Also the animals.

Genesis 1:20-27

Genesis 2:7-19

Genesis 1 and 2 are in perfect sync. Simply listing verses without and explanation doesn't help present your point.

Sorry, I thought my point was clear.
It seems like chapter 1 shows that god created man after the animals and plants. But chapter 2 seems to imply that adam was created before all of those things.

Sorry for the misunderstanding...posting only scripture without a reason can be pretty tricky.

As to Gen 2....Adam was created after the animals. Just like Chapter 1 tells us.
Gen 2:19 can be translated as follows ESV.....Now out of the ground the LORD God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them.

The perspective is different between the two accounts.
Evidently God is not obsessed with time.
Perhaps becasue He resides outside of time?

God just thinks and things are created.
Perhaps the order is all in His mind.

Here's an article on the plant issue.
Plant Creation Contradiction in Genesis?

Gen. 2 is a new account starting in 2:4b. It is speaking of cultivated plants (plants of the field). The phrase "plants of the field" occurs all through the O.T. and virtually always speaks of farm and garden plants. This makes sense since chapter 2 begins the account of the Garden of Eden. After wild plants were created around the world on day 3, God created the Garden of Eden on day 6. No cultivated plants had yet sprung up at that point as there was "no man to cultivate the ground." Wild plants, of course, do not need man. It's a very clear distinction. God then proceeded to create the first cultivated Garden on day 6 (miraculously).

The animals issue is even easier. Since a new account starts in Gen. 2:4b, it was necessary for the author to go back and explain that God had created the animals in the past. No contradiction whatsoever.
