With all due respect, Jim....
With all due respect, P1, this is neither the place nor the way for such. Also, I'm very tenderhearted, and I perceived your post too heartbreaking to read, so I could not. Please do not let the enemy lie and tell you this is something of spite or any such evil motive, I simply would be too saddened by your words of defense to read it. In any case, any follower/observer of these posts has everything they need, coupled with God's Grace, to decide for themselves by what has already been posted.

Sincerely, and may He bless you with every blessing He yet has in store for you in the Heavens, P1, in Jesus' Name, jim

Sorry to interject here but from how I read his response it seemed as if was saying that out of 48,000 calls received those that referenced prophesy, we're calling in for counseling due to receiving false prophesy. Not that all of those 48,000 were callers who needed counsel due to false prophesies. BUT, I could be very wrong in my understanding of what his statement was.

....

You understood correctly. Sorry for any confusion by my lack of expounding. Of course not all 48K callers called in ref. to personal prophecies. The number of those among them was likely but a few dozen. And granted, while there may have been among those 48K callers some who received a personal prophecy who were also in the long run edified by it because it truly was from God and not merely of some so-called well-meaning heart of a person, I never heard anyone so testify, but then we usually seek counseling to overcome the negative and not espouse the positive, amen?'

But experience, as I've said on another post, is only one-fourth of what we who are quadrilateral believers (vs. sola scriptura) use to form our personally-held beliefs/theology, and i've formed mine regarding this issue by bringing in the other exponents as well, as each who read these posts must also do and decide for themselves what is Truth and what error. We should not entrust our souls to any person and their beliefs as we are too priceless and others too prone to error, and yet....

Thanks for reading and considering my posts.

Prophecy is very real.
....

Amen. I agree, as Paul also testified: it is that Gift of the Spirit we should most seek, for ministering to others, just as Love the Fruit.

For any who want to read more, the one of only two truly prophetic speakers I have personally ever had the blessing of experiencing (forth-telling, not fore-telling), formed a website before his passing a few years ago, which I believe is still up and running, whereupon are posted for free most if not all his major writings. (I was waiting to hit 50 posts so I could offer it, which happened today PTL and, WOW, so THAT'S how you get all those large numbers in your bio!) Home Page

To anyone:

I think it most Christ-like if I now resign from this thread. Truly sorry for any divisiveness or misunderstandings I may have caused. Truly.

Jimfish, I never saw spitefulness in any of your posts. You do not appear spiteful, and I understand not wanting to read a post--sometimes words can be too much.

God bless you in your life. I wish you well Jimfish. God bless you.

And may we all find God's intention for us through God's Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

James 1:5.

Be blessed.

One main problem is the church has done a poor job teaching and we, as believers, have not researched it for ourselves about what to do with the prophetic words once they're given. But the instructions are in Scripture.

When prophecies are given, it's just the beginning. I Thess 5:20-21 - 20 "Despise not prophesyings. The next VERSE 21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

How do we prove all things? Just like researching other Biblical topics - like when you hear a sermon on a topic you've never heard before -
-as already stated - Foremost, everything has to line up with Scriptures.
-Plus here’s some scriptures that acknowledges that we need His divine help in every step we take such as Jeremiah 10:23, Psa 37:23, and Prov 3:5-6. As believers, we have the Holy Spirit.
-
confirmation - an example of Biblical confirmation: Acts 9:9-19 especially v 10-12. In 2 Corinthians stresses that there will be 2-3 witnesses to confirm what’s been said (II Cor 13:1).

We have Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit, prayer, hearing God’s voice, spiritual discernment, and confirmation to help us. Once we have proven all things (I Thess 5:21), we hold fast to that which is good.

Then in I Tim 1:18, Apostle Paul told Timothy to make good warfare over the prophetic words he had received.
