Is it harassment to shove your opinions down someone's throat who is not asking for your opinion?
I have a phobia (the fear of walking across the street and a fear of wide open spaces). And as a result, I use a little scooter to help me across the street or the parking lot, even though there is still fear when I cross the street. But the scooter is so helpful. When I cross the street I get extreme vertigo. But I can still walk. So a lot of people can't understand why I can walk up and down the stairs and walk around the apartment complex and yet I use the scooter to go to the park and other places. I mind my own business. But there are people who get mad that I use the scooter and yet it appears that I can walk. Some of them even would tell me their disapproving of me. Or they would stare and then shake their heads at me.
Why do they care? Why does it affect their lives? I know some people are very bluntly honest, and they are not afraid to speak their minds. But why does matter to them if it doesn't even affect them? That's what I don't get about blunt people.
I mean people shouldn't have to live their lives to satisfy other people. Right?
So my question is, isn't it harassment to shove your opinions down someone else's throat when they are not even asking, especially if that person is just minding their own business?
I am not talking about voicing your opinion in an appropriate setting like holding up signs or protesting against this or that. I am talking about personally attacking a single human being who is just trying to get by.
People think I am just lazy and choose not to walk. Or that I am taking advantage of the system. And they have no problem telling me this. And these are strangers that I don't even know and they don't know me. However, they have seen me walk in the store or walk up and down the stairs.
I would have no problem if they just ask me so they can understand.
They don't know that I am going back to school in the Fall. I am going to get training so that I can work at home. I need my scooter for this. I am doing everything I can so that I can go back to work.
A lot of times, blunt people immediately speak their opinions without trying to understand other people.
I don't know. Maybe I need to work on trying to understand people myself.
