For discussions of Origin?
I'm new here and I think I may have wandered into a wrong room called "Creation & Evolution".
It seems that forum is for all members, christian or non-christian. I really didn't want to get into a debate of whether scripture is wrong or not and I think I made a mistake of not looking around first for a place where the bible is believed first and foremost.
I'm like, "Ooops"
Oh well. I got myself into a research mode and after that's done I'll watch where I go from now on.
Live and learn huh?
:)

unfortunately, its not much better here, we have theisitic evoutionists calling creationists stupid, and creationists almost calling Theistic evoluionists athiests. I keep hoping we will learn to get along, but hey, I'm an optimist;)
God bless and welcome to it

I appreciate your honesty.
Well, these are great forums and they seem popular but to reply with like kind concerning honesty I don't think this is the best place for me. I'm looking for a christian forum I can participate in without debating about the bible.
Is there such a place or am I chasing rainbows?

Well, the thing is... One of the big things Christians do is debate about the Bible. At least we aren't, mostly, having bloody wars over what we think it says anymore.

You're never gonna be required to debate, but other people may debate with you. If you're not comfortable with that, just ignore 'em. :)

Oh, I understand inter-christian debate but the kind of debate I'm used to with other christians is supportive, looking to answer an issue with the Word as the focal point.
I've looked at some of the threads here and it does seem there is contention, especially around whether Genesis is real or not. That kind of debate isn't what I'm used to nor what I'm looking for.

I suppose I took "Forums for Christians only" exactly as the way it reads.

Thanks guys :)

Bless you all

hello Beowulf. I would love to talk with you about Biblical teachings. I hold the Bible to be infallible and the innerant Word of God. Feel free to PM anytime. I study the Bible often(just about everyday) and would love to talk with someone who isn't going to dispute the Bible as well.

Take Care and God Bless

Actually you can have it both ways.
Ever do exercises to try to prove the other guy right? Afterwards one can come away with a better point of view.

I really don't want to argue. It's not I came looking for.

Peace in Christ
:prayer:

Oh, please stay. I love talking to people who think like that!

Not all of us here agree on what the Bible says, but I think we all agree that what it says is important, and worth figuring out.

Beowulf - "Christian only" does not mean "Creationist only", if that's what you were looking for.

No-one here disputes that Genesis is "real", or that it is "true", but we do not necessarily agree on exactly what "real" or "true" mean in this context.

But there is a "Creationists only" sub-forum if that's what you want.

Sound name, by the way. I'm afraid that many people round here see me as something of an eoten or swarth aelf.

Some basic things to keep in mind on this issue:

ALL of us are Christian.

ALL of us believe the Bible is God's Word to us and is Truth.

Where we differ is the degree to which we read God's Holy Word literally or non-literally. Or, should I say *which* passages of Scripture we read literally, since every Christian will read some Scripture in the Bible non-literally.

Those who accept evolution are NOT more "Worldly" and are NOT compromising Christians. We do NOT value the Bible any less and we are not any less spiritual.

Just some things to use as a baseline.

That's a good perspective, Vance. It encourages respect.

By the way - Beowulf - are you THE Beowulf from the Disciple boards?
