Is it alright for a Christian to donate to a non Christian?

it would help that non Christian, but shouldn't there be a moral standard..?
to donate to a Christian rather than a non Christian..? (btw, this creates an us vs them mentality.. which is.. dangerous)
but that causes a problem too because a lot of believers are Christian in name only and no body has knowledge of everything, we don't know.. perhaps that non Christians is far closer to God than the Christian?
What should a Christian do?

Donate who you feel led to donate to. There's no prohibition against donating to non-Christians. Have you ever donated to Goodwill, the Salvation Army, etc.? They're not all Christians.

i don't truly care about where my donations go.. because God loves us all, and all humans are created in His image then we shouldn't care about our differences but rather our similarities.

Hi FG, St. Paul tells us this:

Galatians 6
9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

The Lord causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous .. Matthew 5:45, and we are called to lovingly care for anyone who is in need. We should keep this parameter in mind however, will the care we provide bring glory to God .. Matthew 5:16? Obviously, this parameter (in your case) would preclude making donations to people or organizations involved in activities that the Lord considers sinful.

Yours and His,
David

Luke 6
35 Love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons and daughters of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.
36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

You're welcome. You should always pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, of course. If you still have doubts however, call your pastor :)

In Christ,
David

It seems to me that the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) might apply here. We're not to help only those in the faith, but our demonstration of love to those outside the faith may bring them in. That said, I would not donate to a cause (under a Christian banner or not) that I felt to be immoral.

Christians should love their enemies.. So part of love is giving help to them.. The only question is will the help assist them in committing sin.. As an example i would never donate to a abortion clinic..

but tell me, why do Christians hate abortion clinics?

Why did the Jews hate concentration camps ?

Why did many Cambodians hate pol pot and his killing fields ?

Why did many Russians hate the soviet Gulags ?

Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot combined did not slaughter as many people as abortionists have...

It seems you've gotten a lot of wise answers.

I would just reiterate that it doesn't matter to me what that person's beliefs are if they are suffering, in pain, rejected, dejected, hungry, sleeping on the street, literally, etc.

When you say "donate", do you mean "give"?

its just a fetus..
Legally in many countries it is "just a fetus", but genetically it is already fully a human. One second before birth, there is essentially no difference as at the time of birth.
Before that, I see no real difference between the growth and development of the fetus, and the growth and development of a baby to child to adult, except for the milestone of birth. From the time the child is conceived until the time of death, the genetic code is the same, and separate from the mother's (I.e. It is not her body), though in the fetal stage the baby is more dependent on its mother than at any other time in his/her life.

I have held fetuses that have been miscarried even at early in pregnancy, and they are most certainly a "baby" and thought of such by its mother. It seems very strange to determine the personhood of such by whether or not it is desired by the parents.

God is a God of life, not death, and even these young ones are made in His image.

Like you were at one time? Were you a human being when you were very tiny and helpless? The tiniest and most helpless of babies should not be forsaken either, should they?

I'm with Dr. Seuss on this one:

“A person's a person, no matter how small.” ~Dr. Seuss

what about being forsaken after you are born?
is that not more important?

i had rather she had an abortion.
