Atomagenesis
Regina decor Carmeli, ora pro nobis
I don't know what idolatry you are speaking about, but priests are also human and imperfect, granted that doesn't make it alright to do, but we should not judge the Church itself on the sins of it's people. As for it being tolerated, that is completely false. The Vatican has done much to fix this problem to their best of their ability, though they cannot control people's wills. The 1.3 billion laity stay there because they know not to judge and condemn priests just because they screw up time to time. They also stay there because it is the true chuch and Christ truly dwells there, body, blood, soul, and divinity. It is also uncharitable and a sin to assume evil things about people when we have all fallen into sin ourselves. "Judge not lest ye be judged."
I think it is a horrible thing that a few number of priests have fallen into the sin, but that is an extremely small number. The good of the Catholic Church outweighs the sins of it's people by billions, but Satan will do all in his power to keep you focused on the evil of the weak, imperfect creatures in the higher places of the church. Looking at your brother's faults is like looking into the eye's of Satan.
