In grade school, a Sunday school teacher asked us what we would answer if Jesus offered to take us to heaven right now. The teacher said that he would love to go now with a big smile on his face. It scared the heck out of me enough that I remember it and can picture it now even though my memory is almost nonexistent for those years. Is it a sin to want to stay here, with your family? I want to go to Heaven with Jesus someday, though, but I like my life.
There really isn't anything wrong with how you feel about dying. What's more important is that you submit your will to God to accept whatever (and whenever) he decides. Remember he is working for what is best for you—even sometimes with death.
The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. (bold mine, Isaiah 57:1-2, 1984 NIV)
I'm sure God is exceedingly pleased with those that want to stay to help others, especially family.
“Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. (Deuteronomy 5:16, 1984 NIV)
