Right, they are trying to TEST it. They have witnessed nothing nor have they any conclusions.
The existence of higher dimensions is a standard thing in physics, scientists even say there are 11 dimensions. The math does not make sense without it.

LHC tried to test it, but its a huge thing to do. But you can see its a serious scientific endeavor, not a Christian fable.

That is one hypothesis in physics--by no means universally held. But even if granted, how does that support theistic claims or the Trinity?

I am not talking about Trinity, I am talking about the existence of the spiritual world. Spiritual world is just a higher dimension. Angels can see us and even make impact in our dimension, but we cannot see them. Thats a perfect illustration of a higher dimension being.

So again, Christianity is not saying anything foolish or crazy, while believing in angels or spiritual realm.

If there is a dimension that we can explore or identify with the evidence or scientific tools, isn't that part of the physical world we currently experience? That is not spiritual is it?

You jumped to angels. That is far too big a leap to be reasonable.

Actually, we are part of their world. Lower dimensions are part of higher dimensions. Imagine it as if you were a 2D being on the monitor screen. I can see you and touch you, but you cannot see me. But if you would be able to make a microscopic hole into the monitor, you would be able to prove there is something "behind your world".

Not at all. There is no difference between biblical angels (spiritual beings) and higher dimension beings. Its the same thing. Only said in a different language (1st century vs 21st century)

There is no evidence to support your claim. Please give me something compelling and I will read it.

I think that if you are interested, you should search for it. I will not do your work ;-) You have the same google I have.

You can also search for the simulation hypothesis, NDE, fine tuning of the universe and other things.

Quantum mechanics and the requirement for a conciouss mind is also an interesting topic.

No, no, no--you don't get to just make a wild claim and not give any evidence and then place the onus on me as if I have somehow failed to be diligent in my research. That's dishonest.
We are not in a court. I will not spend my time by collecting evidence for you while you will be just passively reading what I will find.

Its your own responsibility to learn and grow. Christians are not obligated to simply give you everything on the silver plate.

Its 10 pm here, good night.

Quantum mechanics has zero to do with this topic. Can you explain quantum mechanics to me?

No--you made the claim--not me. It is YOUR responsibility. Otherwise, don't bring it up. Good night,

Aren't you demanding too much here? Skeptics often come to religious people and say they want to understand but then demand proof proof proof--on the grounds acceptable to the supposed inquirer. It's totally up to the believer to justify his beliefs.

You said yourself, "I see no reason to think there is a spiritual realm." That's not an inquiry, and it's not "Exploring Christianity" (the name of this forum).

We're speaking of spiritual matters, not chemistry experiments. The nature of eternity, the meaning of salvation, and so on cannot be "proven" just like we'd attack a problem in medicine or law.

If "look it up" is something you don't want to hear, at least realize that it would help a great deal if you had put in a certain amount of study in advance, just like most people do when they're about to change jobs or visit another nation for the first time.

I think you have it completely wrong. Yes, this is Exploring Christianity; that is what questions are--exploration. This is not the Assuming Christianity forum.

Of course the skeptic wants proof. Why would I want anything else or less? If I don't believe a thing, the only way to win me to your side is to convince me it is true. How do you propose that happens without proof or at least compelling evidence?

Imagine that--I ask a religious person to back up their claims, and somehow I am out of line. Shouldn't apologetics be done by meeting people where they are?

You assumed I have not studied--you couldn't be more wrong.

I didn't find much if any of the "exploring" part, that's all.

Many people who come to us think they will show us up and prove (to themselves?) that Christianity is nonsense, myth, or wishful thinking.

You assumed I have not studied--you couldn't be more wrong.
I assumed no such thing. But this is a discussion board. Discussion. It's not a lending library.

It actually is a lending library isn't it--we are here to discuss ideas and engage in the opinions of others. A conversation is analogous to a library of ideas. Why do I get criticized when I ask for proof or even a bit of evidence? I don't care what your experience is with the people, engage with me and please don't include me with the "many people" who demeaned your beliefs. I am not being disrespectful to anyone here.
