I like your analogy, but if it is true then God is not omniscient. The Creationists aren't going to like that.
If God really was Omniscient, there'd be no point in the Universe existing at all (unless we are God's dream, or some other emanation that God has no concern for)

I definitely agree with you here. I just don't see why others haven't come to this conclusion. It's like they are afraid to admit that God doesn't know everything.

Actually the idea of an "all-knowing" God was only invented by Augustine in the 6th Century.... before that peolpe generally accepted that God had limitations....

This is an interesting piece of information. According to wikipedia Augustine of Hippo and he lived between the 354-430. Perhaps, you have your date of the 6th century wrong or they do.

I am quoting out of wikipedia, but I found this information interesting

Augustine's theological views in the early middle era were revolutionary, perhaps none so much as his clear formulation of the doctrine of Original Sin that has substantially influenced Catholic theology.
Augustine struggled with lust throughout his life. He associated sexual desire with the sin of Adam, and believed that it was still sinful, even though the Fall has made it part of human nature.
In the Confessions, Augustine describes his personal struggle in vivid terms: "But I, wretched, most wretched, in the very commencement of my early youth, had begged chastity of Thee, and said, 'Give me chastity and continence, only not yet.'"[19] At sixteen Augustine moved to Carthage where again he was plagued by this "wretched sin":
Just a tangent. Perhaps, I should start a thread on Agustine.

Maybe I'm thinking of Aquinas?

Aquinas lived in the 13th century. He was a strong proponent of natural theology rather than revealed theology, which later led evolved into deism and then eventually into pandeism.

I think you were right before: it was Augustine, but in the 5th century.

Oh, I suppose if I was off by one century I can be forgiven.... ;)
