Here's a disgusting article from Nature Magazine on my "imaginary journey":

Genetic Patterns Offer Clues To Evolution Of Homosexuality
Why do you think it is disgusting?

For reasons given in the article I don't think it adds anything new to our knowledge of homosexuality.

Dean Hamer, a retired geneticist in Haleiwa, Hawaii, who published some of the first studies on the genetics of sexual orientation, is disappointed with the study. Defining sexual orientation on the basis of a single same-sex encounter is not a useful way of categorizing people, he says, because many people who identify as heterosexual have experimented with a same-sex partner. “You’re not even asking the right people the right question,” Hamer says. Instead, he thinks the researchers have found genetic markers associated with openness to new experiences, which could explain the overlap between people who have had a homosexual partner and heterosexual people who have had many partners.

A scientific theory is a lot more than just a guess or idea.

Do you also claim that the theory of gravity is not a fact?
Ditto for Phlogiston theory?

Phlogiston theory was rejected because scientists found things within the theory which could be disproved through testing.

That sort of thing has not happened with evolution.

So much for "a lot more than just a guess or idea."

How about all those moon theories?

How so?

It was put to the test and rejected when the test showed it was wrong. Do you have a problem with that?
How about all those moon theories?
When we can put them to the test, we will. And if some hypothesis is shown to be wrong because of the test, then that hypothesis will be rejected.

Again, what exactly is your problem here?

No. Phlogiston was put to the test and passed.
... when the test showed it was wrong.
Not.

Do you know the difference between a hypothesis and a theory?

A theory has already passed the hypothesis stage in the scientific method and gone through testing.

I didn't say Phlogiston hypothesis; I said Phlogiston theory.

No. Phlogiston was put to the test and passed.
Please tell me what test it passed.

Do you think phlogiston and oxygen are the same thing? Uh, no.

"Phlogiston theory states that phlogisticated substances contain phlogiston and that they dephlogisticate when burned, releasing stored phlogiston which is absorbed by the air. Growing plants then absorb this phlogiston, which is why air does not spontaneously combust and also why plant matter burns as well as it does.

Thus phlogiston accounted for combustion via a process that was opposite to that of the oxygen theory.

In general, substances that burned in air were said to be rich in phlogiston; the fact that combustion soon ceased in an enclosed space was taken as clear-cut evidence that air had the capacity to absorb only a finite amount of phlogiston. When air had become completely phlogisticated it would no longer serve to support combustion of any material, nor would a metal heated in it yield a calx; nor could phlogisticated air support life. Breathing was thought to take phlogiston out of the body.

Joseph Black's Scottish student Daniel Rutherford discovered nitrogen in 1772, and the pair used the theory to explain his results. The residue of air left after burning, in fact a mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide, was sometimes referred to as phlogisticated air, having taken up all of the phlogiston. Conversely, when Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen, he believed it to be dephlogisticated air, capable of combining with more phlogiston and thus supporting combustion for longer than ordinary air."

Yes it did.

Phlogiston and oxygen are not the same thing.
Do you know the difference between a hypothesis and a theory?
Yes.

Hypothesis: a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.

In other words, you see something happen, and you try to think of a possible explanation for it. This possible explanation is the hypothesis. It appears to fit what you already know, but it could still be wrong.

Theory: a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.

In other words, it's based on things we know to be true. It's built on ideas which have been tested and validated and verified.
A theory has already passed the hypothesis stage in the scientific method and gone through testing.

I didn't say Phlogiston hypothesis; I said Phlogiston theory.
And phlogiston was tested and FAILED.

Again, phlogiston is not oxygen. They thought fire PRODUCED phlogiston. Fire does not produce oxygen.

No theory is a fact.
No rock is an apple tree.
This needs to be said?

Imagine that.

A theory that isn't a fact.

Sounds like evolution.
No.

When used in a scientific environment, a theory is indeed as close to a fact as we can get.

When used colloquially, a theory is actually closer to a hypothesis, though less rigorous, because it's not developed with the scientific method in mind. Colloquially used, "theory" does mean a guess.

But you are being dishonest here and claiming that a colloquial use of theory proves that scientific theories have no merit.

You know better than this AV. This has been explained to you before, so I'm sure you know it's wrong. And you know that I know better, so I can't figure out why you're trying this weak tactic on me. It's a trick you know is wrong and you're trying it on someone you know isn't going to fall for it. Why even bother?

Only just checked in, sorry. Genesis 1 and 2 answer all three. They did for me. Faith is a gift from God
No. Genesis answers non of the three bullet points I had written.
* the theory of evolution isn't correct - please provide evidence for that claim. Provide evidence that falsifies the ToE.

* that the "sources" that voiced the ToE first know or knew that it was wrong, that it was a deliberate and known falsehood, this in contrast with an error or mistake. Pleas provide for this.

* You state that this source was the devil, start with providing evidence for the devil's existence. Then you can proceed with providing proof that the devil was the primordial source of the Theory of Evolution.

Besides, I predicted the way you would answer. And you did.
I predict that you will dodge, obfuscate and derail every attempt. And were you to try. You will fail.
