Get in uniform and got over there ans see if you come back thinking the same way.
And No, not the Navy where you can sit out the war offshore holding a mop instead of a rifle or the Air Force where you can wash planes. Not even the Army or Marines as a POG (Personnel other than Grunt) And sit out the war as a Fobbit. No, Go infantry and join the the ones who spend hours humping 90 pounds of gear. Shher boredom interrupted by moments of terror. Then come back and tell everyone how you enjoy war.
Combat veterans don't talk like this.
No military force on the ground is immune to attack, including Air force, not all Air Force drop bombs, launch missles from ground or air.
I believe the poster is immature. War is a game to him, I believed like him, when I was 8yr old, when we played war, and no one really died.
When you face death, or face having to kill, the fun and games is gone.
The blood stains even if you never touch it. The scars of war never really heal.
I ask you Gatheris, if handed a firearm, and told to go out and kill someone that is armed and looking to kill you, would you still think it fun and games.
Put your toys away, come to the real world. The people shot and killed, don't get up to play again. Game over means a coffin, a body bag, a family grieving. You mess up out there, Game over, means your dead.
War is not fun, nothing to look forward too. No country should ever go to war on a whim. It will haunt the soldiers(all titles) for the rest of their lives, with wounds(physical and mental) that will need care for the rest of their lives.
War is reality. It must be fought at times. But it should, must be a last resort. When violence is the only benefit of negotiations, then war is the only option. But negotiations must be first.
