  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Seventh Day Adventists are wrong concerning death. Throughout the scriptures death is the opposite of life.

God breathed into man's nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul (Gen. 2:7). He didn't have a soul merge with his body.

When a person dies he is said to be asleep. This is a figure of speech, because, when a person is asleep, it is similar to death. The difference is when a person goes to sleep, he later rouses and is awake, while the dead will only be roused through resurrection.

Concerning the literal Lazarus who Jesus roused from the dead, Jesus said "Lazarus sleeps" in John 11:11, then said plainly "Lazarus is dead" in 11:14.

God bless you, Bick

Bick, I think you just proved that the Severnth-day Adventists are correct on the matter of death. Every argument you made here proves the opposite of what you seem to believe, based on your opening sentence. You know nothing while you are asleep, and you also know nothing while you are dead.
