Is "cussing" a sin?

I didn't get that message from what he wrote. Christians sin, but according to Romans 8:1 there is no condemnation for those in Christ.
"In Christ" means, "in the light" or "in Him". If you walk in the light (or in Christian love) you don't sin and there is no condemnation. You're cleansed by the blood--forgiven.

If you sin, you need to repent to be forgiven and cleansed. The ones who do not receive condemnation are the ones who's sins are forgiven. Those who do not repent will be judged.

So people are moving back and forth between being saved and unsaved every time they sin?

God said that He will visit our transgressions with the rod and with stripes. Your being "saved" is conditional on actually having real faith. If you're in darkness, you don't have real faith. (You have "head faith") Faith comes by hearing (in the heart). If you've closed your ears to God's inward Law and sin (written on our hearts), you don't have faith.

I don't believe He gives up on us. He said He'd never leave nor forsake us.
He said if we repent, confessing our sins, that He'd cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we walk in the light, He'll keep us cleansed.

In the Old Covenant, when a son of Abraham was defiled, he went "outside the camp". There was defilement and he didn't pretend everything was ok.

We have a better covenant, but we do have a covenant and it must be kept. A one time act of receiving Christ does not mean you're keeping the covenant. That means you've entered into covenant.

In the New Covenant we are free from the bondage of sin. We can live without sin. John says that we will sin, but that is the exception, not the rule. If you're defiled you need to be cleansed. Just repent and confess and believe.

God expects us fulfill righteousness. We do not do this on our own strength (not done by the flesh). It is accomplished by being obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit (by grace). That's how He writes His Laws on our hearts. We're responsible to do them. You'll bear fruit of either life or death, blessing or cursing depending on which of your 2 natures you walk in. It's a choice. I don't believe God gives up on us when we sin. You can definitely move outside of the covenant on your own and you can be held captive by evil spirits that will bring you into bondage and can bring into fruit worthy of condemnation (God is not mocked). There is no respecter of persons with God. Whoever honors the covenant and obeys God will be saved.

You will be judged by your fruit in the end.
Regardless of what anyone believes, you can take this to the bank.

Both heapshake and Jakihe are wrong. It is this type of false belief and teaching that has done so much harm and damage to the Churches of Christ. It has led to cult like movements like the Boston Movement ( The idea of I must be perfect and work for my salvation)

Sin only separates a non christian from God. One can be lost by turning away from faith and belief in God and going back into a life of sin.

A Christian who has ( true ) faith in Jesus Christ will not be lost because of a sin here and their.

A Christian will only be lost unless he no longer wants to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

You are teaching a VERY dangerous liberal doctrine here, my friend. SIN seperates MAN from God. Whether that MAN (human) is a Hindu, Jew, Atheist, Agnostic, Democrat, Evolutionist or Born Again Christian. For all these are still MEN.

Jesus said that the path which leads to the kingdom of God is narrow and that few will find the gate to enter in by. But BROAD is the way unto destruction.

You said, quoted below,

"A Christian will only be lost unless he no longer wants to be a follower of Jesus Christ."

When a MAN, whether or not he is a Christian but ESPECIALLY when he is a Christian CHOOSES to give into temptation and SIN he IS BY THE VERY ACT OF DOING SO choosing to no longer be a follower of God because he is commiting sin, even though he walks with the Holy Spirit and is afforded the power to resist temptation. This puts the sinner in direct contrast with God and this is why Paul told us that we must DAILY die in the flesh and be raised up in the Spirit, taking up our cross and following after Christ.

When we sin, it is when our faith FAILS and we abandon following Christ to run to the pleasure of sin instead.

And Jesus Himself tells us that we must be presented BLAMELESS before Christ and the only way is to have our sins forgiven through Christ's Holy Blood.

Therefore, we are SAVED by faith and not by works. But that FAITH is DEAD if it be without works, for works are what STRENGTHENS the faith.

Jesus hope for us is to walk steadfastly in the Spirit, 100% rebelling against temptation, just as He did. And tells us that we also can do this, that He was in the SAME KIND OF FLESH AS US! He simply never took His heart off the Holy Spirit where we (being men) do and then, IMMEDIATELY need His forgiveness. That is why we CONTINUALLY confess our sins to Christ Our Savior, even those we know not of, so that He may present us BLAMELESS before Our Heavenly Father.

Be not decieved: for Jesus said that idolaters, the proud, the sexually immoral, the greedy, the violent and all other types of unrighteous men would NOT enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Christians are still IN THE FLESH! Like Paul said, it is a constant WAR within his flesh which makes him weary but the Spirit gives him relief! This doesn't sound like someone enjoying a very smooth and easy ride who doesn't have to worry about not going to hell simply because he WANTS to follow Jesus in his heart. No, this sounds like a man who is having to consciously WORK at maintaining his faith to avoid falling into sin. Why struggle so much fighting sin if you can't go to hell? Your doctrine holds no water when compared against the Scriptures and the Law of Christ and is therefore a worldly doctrine which belittles Christ's sacrifice.

I'm sure this what not your intent, brother, but I pray that The Word convinces you and brings you to humble repentance lest you be decieved.

May the Grace and Mercy of the Lord be unto you.

"Cuss" words are an invention of man.
While it is impolite to say them, nowhere in the Bible do I see a list of prohibited words.
God *$%# on the other hand is taking the Lord's name in vain...so is "I swear to G-d", if taken lightly or if you intend to not honor that, with telling a lie.
To say the others is not a sin, but it is uncouth.
