Because humans take 18 years to mature, which is a significant investment of resources. Thus, parents bonded by love are much more successful at rearing a child, since it needs long-term cooperation and altruism (something parents of hate are much less inclined to do).
Moreover, it is socially suicidal to engage in rape to proliferate one's genes. From the sheer calculus of it, you can have and rear more babies to adulthood through love and cooperation, than you can through rape.

Perhaps you should consider that your opinion is not the ultima ratio of sociology?In a society of today, maybe. Thanks to highly advanced medicines and equipment we can deal with many things. Also we have lots of highly technical surgical techniques to help ensure a young child survives. If we lived in a more primitive situation, with no such techniques or equipment, the story would be very different. Surely the emphasis would be on the appearance of the male, rather than behaviour/kindness/love etc. You would look for the physical qualities of the male and go for the best. Many animals use this method. They choose the best looking, strongest etc. They don't base their decisions on who purchases the biggest bunch of flowers or box of chocolates.
So you agree floods TODAY are common, but when we mention Noah, it's a no no.

Correction: Many cultures have a deluge myth in which the world is cleansed by a flood and someone from that culture survives in a boat.The Bible and every major culture acknowledge a world wide flood. Your disbelieve doesn't change that.
What you keep ignoring though... it isn't a Christian nation either.
They don't acknowledge that this flood literally happened - it's a story that contains deeper truths.
I gather you are using the Bible instead of a computer to communicate with us in CFIt is sad that some people would dare to categorize the Bible as mere myth. It is, by far, the best book ever created in the world! My lack of verbage could never express its fullest qualities and content. It is our HISTORY from the beginning, our teachings about God, and that which is to come, the end....
Whether u like it or not, no matter how much we fight and quibble over words and false theories, there is TRUTH, and there is God's fingerprint all over creation....
U can study all u want in science to try to figure out how snippets of time evolved...but in reality, all u get is swiss cheese...u will NEVER figure it out, other than what He has already told us!
