I never said we confess sins to get saved, maybe you are taking them out of context or there is some misunderstanding?
With respect, you keep quoting random verses without much reasoning. We do all know the scriptures.
I’m sorry, I do tend to misunderstand from time to time… though I do have reasoning in “my” mind when I post scripture… that’s not to say that you should understand… I’m not the best communicator… but I am sincerely trying to understand what others are saying here…. God bless

Its ok, that’s just a problem with forums, I think. Sometimes posts get misunderstood and I too am sorry if I’m not as clear as I hoped to be. God bless you too.

Living holy does not make us holy. Having the holiness of God imparted to our Spirit enables us to live holy... but clearly if God alone is holy... we fall short in of ourselves and His holiness is necessary...

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, that is, our holiness (1 Corinthians 1:30)

hi..yes, i am trying to ask lion king, what commandments had to do with the cross? because that was the only thing, that made us holy, the cross,
heb 10;10, and gal 2;21 says is righteousness came by law, Christ died for nothing. In other words, my contention with our dear bro, is that only the cross made us holy, be he seems to think commands did it.

and this proves it too...the cross made us holy, and nothing else made us holy.

col 1;20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,

John 10:34......Are we "gods" now?

John 10:33 Answered Him, the Judeans saying, "About a good work not we are stoning Thee, but about blasphemy, and that Thou, being a man, are making thyself god".

It says "Be holy for I am holy."
I didn't make the claim that you are holy apart from Christ, the verse I showed tells us it is because of God for He is the "He who called you as holy."

The command from Peter said
"Be holy in all your conducts..." and asks us to "be holy for I [God] am holy".

Ephesians 1:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
Again, Paul said the same thing, telling us to "be holy". It's never apart from God, it's because of God for He has called us to be holy, by His grace through the knowledge of (and redemption by), His Son.

I chose those verses because the question was, "what does the commandments had to do with the cross?"
-It says that a new covenant requires the shedding of blood. Christ did that on the cross.
-It said that a someone who died on the cross becomes a curse. Christ was a curse when He died on the cross.

But Christ operated under the old law, by becoming a curse, so that He can crucify the law and nailed it to the cross because He was the perfect sinless sacrifice.

I agree, the blood of Christ is what makes us holy.

Praise God for allowing His Son to die on that cross so that we may receive eternal life.

i just asked a simple question, what did commands have to do with the cross?

hi bro, i said that to lion king.

Yes, the blood of Jesus Christ has made the world holy, but not all are holy. So, how does one become holy as the LORD desires?

God alone is Holy...

Hebrews 12:9-11
10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Revelation 15
4 Who will not fear you, O Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

I think she's simply saying that flesh does not count for anything before God.
[
So the incarnation doesn't matter?
Only the Spirit does. For example, being born of Israel (being a physical descendant of Abraham) means nothing before the LORD, what only matters is being born of the Spirit (believing in Jesus Christ).
And yet the genealogy of Jesus must be important - because it's mentioned in the gospels

I think Lion King is trying to say that one needs to accept Christ, because it's true, not all is holy and that you cannot be holy without Christ.

And we're not trying to say that we're "holy like God" but that God have asked us to "be holy" (Ephesians 1) and "be holy in our conducts" (1 Peter 1).

To be honest, it's hard talking to you sometimes, especially when you keep pulling the same verses out of context. Yes, I know that God alone is holy and apart from Him, we are nothing (John 15:4). However, the Lord commanded us to be holy as He is holy, to be holy in every aspect of our conduct. Holiness is the very character of God, and our heavenly Father wants His children to act and look like Him. We are called to be a holy nation (1 Peter 2:9), and the Lord is coming back a final time for a holy Church, "holy and immaculate, without stain or wrinkle or anything of that sort" (Eph 5:27). Without becoming holy, we cannot enter the Kingdom of the LORD (Heb 12:14). So, how does one become holy?

You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. Leviticus 20:26

_ _ _

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16

_ _ _

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will Ephesians 1:3-5

_ _ _

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14

So the incarnation doesn't matter?

I see. Your argument is not with me, you should take it up with Jesus Christ.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. John 6:63

And yet the genealogy of Jesus must be important - because it's mentioned in the gospels

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. Romans 9:8

This will be my last response to you. I see you are one of those people that loves to argue for the sake of arguing.

Dear God....No!
Just no!

My thoughts exactly. We are certainly not called to be God, but to be His children (gods).

I have said, You are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Psalm 82:6
