Is being Wiccan moral?

Yule is the Winter Solstice which is the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It symbolizes the begginning of the return of the sun (because from this day on the days will become longer until the longest day -Midsummer- when they will shorten again). The Sun is the symbol of the God or Lord as the Moon is the symbol of the Goddess or Lady. So it is a masculine holiday of sorts symbolizing that even in the deepest darkness of winter the promise of spring and summer is renewed.

The Jewish faith starts, unless I am mistaken, from the time of Moses, and is also, I believe, uses a lunar calendar. A given date in history does not match the Christian calendar, even by offseting it by x years. Dates will change because the Jewish calendar is always a 28 day month. (This would be the year 5,764). I know that there are other faiths with different years, and ways of calculating each year. Mylinka Asdara, in Wicca, do you have a different calendar than the Christian calendar? Thank you.

Considering that the basic requirment of Wicca is do no harm, and as a Wiccan you are supposed to be kind, would it be moral?

If you want to re-define 'moral' to mean "being kind and not hurting people", then sure. Why not?!

It depends how you define that. If you mean I want to make wiccieeeen loving pigtail movie watcher Christians look bad. Then your right I do! I don't know any moral Christians who promote Wiccan and are'nt living in sin!!! Ever heard of debate, I wish you'd do it on this forum instead of talking about your great potions!!!

Your doing a good job at making yourself look bad, thats for sure. Youve misrepresented the wiccan religion, made yourself look like an a-hole, and have generally flamed everyone here. I suggest you take a rest and come back when your ready for a civilized discussion.

Witchcraft is consided a bad thing by Christianity. It is seen at best to be one of the lusts of the flesh as listed in Galatians 5

Galatians 5:19-21 KJV
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

So if you choose to come to this Christian site, understand that you are going to get approached about this. Don't get mad at Christians because they point these things out. This is their "house" if you will, and they are really under no obligation to hold back what they believe on these matters.
If you are really offended by what we say on the subject, the best thing would be to find your own site and set up shop there. Like I said, you are welcome here to discuss and share... but don't expect Christians to pull punches when discussing the topic of witchcraft. We see it as a killer, and will warn all who will listen about the dangers thereof.

Nothing good can come from telling people that they don't care if others get upset. I hope that the Wiccan freinds that I have made here are not forced off of a board because of hate, ignorance, and mistrust. The scriptures should never be used to validate hatred.

They are pretty convinced that they are witches. The first line reads:

Where has it been established that Wiccan is Witchcraft? If Wiccan is not Witchcraft, then the many condemnations that have been tossed at the Wiccans here is false, and that is hate.

This was suposed to be a debate topic. Not a promotion of Wiccan. I did not offend anyone In my first thread I simply stated my opinion. I got very neuative reports. This is a Christian site not a potion disscusion site. Now I know I'm going to get alot of threads saying that I'm religiosly insesitive. However I will let you know that I am Iraqi and I have also studied Islam. So in closing if you are Wiccan and you wan't talk about potions holidays and symbles. You can do two things listen to my ideas about christianity and except it. Or you can find or start a different forum on Wiccan. Happy holidays!!!!!!!

PS. Again God loves you! And he want's you, but you have to except him!! There's no second chances after that. Think of love during the holidays!!!!!

It can be confusing. Too many judgements have been passed with to little information. In speaking with some Wiccans on this forum, a Wiccan had said that Witchcraft is NOT the same thing as the Wiccan faith. As I don't claim to know either one, I can't judge that.
From what I have learned about Wicca, is that it is a monothesitic faith. I don't know if witchcraft actually has a God or not, or what Witchcraft teaches, nor what Witches believe. So far, in conversing with Wiccans, I have been met with respect and kindness. I have no reason, without any other information, to believe that I was being lied to.

You talked to one Wiccan. That is not enough to pass your point. Also your defining respect wrong. I respect every religion and or cult on this planet. I'm just saying that if these Wiccans would like to talk about or promote their religion they should do it on a different forum.
