Dogs are far more intelligent and saying they don't have a mind of their own proves you know nothing of dogs.I have a cat and she indeed smiles some times. Unlike dogs, she has a mind of her own. Sometimes she will jump onto my bed and walk up to my face and meow for attention. If I say, no not now, I am watching TV; she will turn around and jump off the bed. This proves she actually understood me and reacted accordingly. Cats are a lot smarter than we give them credit for.
Is the smile a man made Phynamina?
A smile is a smile
When a wolf shows his teeth,.,./\,./\.,.,
.,.,.,..,.He means business
When we humans show our teeth it’s called a smile
Is the difference an evolutionary thing and once upon a time we smiled for the same reason wolves smile today-?
is a smile universal-? Just asking-
Dada smile:
Now this IS a smile--
What are you smiling about-?
.,.,,, and saying they don't have a mind of their own proves you know nothing of dogs.
Indeed. Dogs can herd animals, guide the blind, support hunters, comfort the traumatised, sniff out dangerous materials, drugs and cancer, search for lost or hurt people in forests, rubble and snow, pull sleds and can guard and protect their owner. When I see my neighbor walking her dog, and out of the blue it just takes a dump & then the owner binds over to pick up the poop I know the difference between a dog and a cat. If a cat has a litter box, it will bury the waste. Covering it up for no one to see. If it is in the wild it will do the same.
There is a BIG difference, i.e. depending on the dog’s size hehe

And a smile ain't always friendly. Like the guy who smiles in a horror movie before he is about to do his evil deed, lol.
.,.,.Then he poops and then kicks a few pieces of grass over it.
You know what, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I'm not even sure you do.Sure he does. You follow your dog when it runs into the forest just to watch him poop and then cover it with some grass. Hopefully he does not smoke it afterwards lol
Sadist smiles happen in real life too.Sorry but you are referring to a fiction movie. I am referring to real life. There is a difference

You started this discussion by implying that dogs have no mind of their own and are less intelligent then dogs.Dogs can herd animals, guide the blind, support hunters, comfort the traumatized, sniff out dangerous materials, drugs and cancer, search for lost or hurt people in forests, rubble and snow, pull sleds and can guard and protect their owner.
Come on, this is not about which is more favorable than the other.
There is room for the dog and the cat & the elephant & even you.
Don’t you agree-?
Just asking-
Dogs are less intelligent than dogs? You started this discussion by implying that dogs have no mind of their own and are less intelligent then dogs.
Sadist smiles happen in real life too.
Sadly I must agree. But I add a sadist is not a normal person.
"A sadist is someone who enjoys inflicting pain on others, sometimes in a sexual sense. Sadists like seeing other people hurt. A sadist is the opposite of a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], who enjoys being in pain. A sadist is all about hurting others, usually to get off sexually. However, this word is about more than sex."
In the category of smiling I would rule out a sadist
just my opinion-
Ten years latter that cat is still with me.
