Wouldn't that also make Pentecostals, Adventists and non-denominational Christians, Baptists?
It depends on what you mean by "baptist" and "Baptist." The term "baptist" as a generic term meaning someone who baptizes (such as "John the Baptist") can refer to anyone, regardless of denomination. Then, it wouldn't matter whether the baptism is immersion or sprinkling. The person practicing the baptism would then be a baptist. If by "Baptist" you are referring to the denomination, then you are talking about a certain group of people who practice Christianity a certain way within that group of organizations. Therefore, don't get denominations mixed up with general practices, as this would be an "apples & oranges" confusion. Many denominations believe in full immersion baptism.

Messianics do full immersion as well.

We call him Yochanan the Immerser. (or John the Immerser)

There is no copyright or patent on the name, title or adjective "Baptist". Therefore, anyone can claim to be Baptist.

However, the origins in Modern times and when applied to denominations - not individuals - it was initially used to distinguish those who fully immerse those who 'apply' for baptism as followers of Jesus. Usually in contrast to those who 'sprinkle' persons - especially infants - as a saving act.

One who does or advocates (adult, immersive) baptism can be called a baptiser, but usually a denomination is referred to as 'Baptist'. But the practice isn't exclusive to only those with 'baptist' in their title.

No. The name "Baptist" is associated with a group of Christians that came out of the non-conformist/puritan movement in England. Baptist has a historical and confessional meaning.

Yours in the Lord.
