Anyone else in the singles forum like Irish folk? I can't get enough of it.

If you want, post examples of your favorite songs. Here are some of mine:

The Bothy Band:

1. The Green Groves of Erin

2. Music in the Glen

3. The Strayaway Child
The Dubliners:

1. Rocky Road to Dublin
2. Óró Sé Do Bheatha Abhaile

3. Whiskey in the Jar
I'd love to hear some other opinions.

I'm a self-hating Irishman.
"What defines an Irishman? His faith, his place of birth? What of the Irish-Americans? Are they Irish? Who is more Irish, a Catholic Irishman such as James Joyce who is trying to escape from his Catholicism and from his Irishness, or a Protestant Irishman like Oscar Wilde who is eventually becoming Catholic? Who is more Irish . . . someone like C.S. Lewis, an Ulster Protestant, who is walking towards it, even though he never ultimately crosses the threshold?"

Most of the Irish music I listen to is on the ethereal side of the spectrum like Meav, Enya, Clannad, and Anuna.

Most of the traditional-leaning Irish folk would be The Kilkennys, Ronan Hardiman, and Loreena McKennitt (I don't know if she'd be called Irish folk).

I listen to a lot of folk, but not much of it is Irish... Annwn (Germany), The Moon and the Nightspirit (Hungary), Rapalje (Netherlands), Celtic Ladies (United States/Canada/England), Laura Wright (England), Anais Mitchell (United States), Faun (Germany), Empyrium (Germany), Andy M. Stewart (Scotland), Corvus Corax (Germany), Craig Duncan (United States), in addition to a few rogue Bulgarian, Finnish, and Estonian albums.
