IRC Server and Channels?

I am wondering if anyone has an IRC server or knows of an IRC server which could host a channel which could be used by members of christian forums.

Unless you have another idea of how to find/set up an IRC server and/or channel.

I use uhh.. I think I use freenode.net or esper.net

Tis free to set up an irc channel on there. Just need to register your nick, and then register a channel....

Been a while since I used IRC though.

Thanks, I haven't really used IRC from an Opt position (nor knew that you could do that) so this shall be interesting

I have registered a channel under freenode.net called "#christianforums".

umm I'm not sure what you mean by server number, if you are using mIRC, just select "freenode(random server)" from the server list ("Alt+e"), then type "/join #christianforums" if it pops up with a dialog asking you which channel to join type "#christianforums", it should work..

Ahh okay. I was meaning like how you go:

au.austnet.org:6667 (or 7777 or 6777 etc)

That's okay. It's just because I'm already on all day and I'd rather not have to open another mIRC, but that's just me being lazy

You must be on soms pretty lame servers. EFNet alone has over 56,000 connections to it at any given time. Hardly what I would call "biting the bullet".
