You are doing it again. It's too bad two Christian men are unwilling to look at an area where they need growth.

I'm sorry if it makes you uncomfortable for someone to have a serious discussion with you about growth and Christian maturity, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed. Making jokes doesn't change the reality of needing to spur each other on to greater things. With almost no effort at all, you two could be genuine leaders in this community. It would take very little effort.

If a brother in the Lord can't tell you these things, who can?

Speaking of people needing growth, you might want to check out a thread in the Baptist section. One brother is asking others if they'd eat him if a survival situation. Sounds like some serious issues going on there too. You'll see I left my mark in that thread a couple of times

Appreciate the shrink analysis, but as you said, it's best done in person, not over the 'net. And I'm sure you've got a congregation full of people you can actually look face to face with that requires your energies more than a 'net surfer like me.

This forum is young and has few people and is the best bet for doing things in a Christian way if you just put a bit of effort into it. The other forums here are so set in their ways that it would be hard to change their dynamics now. This one still has a chance to be the epitome of Christian behavior.

I was asked by one of your members to try to work with you and Dan to help you understand that sometimes the things you do are counterproductive and somewhat unChristlike. I wasn't going to do it, but I came here a couple weeks ago to observe what was going on, and after what happened with that person WalkInHisFootsteps, I thought I had to say something.

After I started a few days ago, I got several PMs from others saying that they appreciate me trying to work with you two. You don't realize it, but the way you interact with some people here could use some tweaking. You aren't bad guys by any stretch of the imagination. You just need to keep in mind that not everyone here likes to be dominated or bullied into agreeing with you, and some people feel that that's happening. Some people feel like they either have to agree with Dan, especially, or be dismissed like ignorant children.

Deflecting my comments with bad humor, distraction or deflection doesn't make things better.

And by the way, this isn't analysis, this is behavior modification. I'm not trying to figure out why you do the things you do, I'm trying to help you stop doing them.

You have my curiousity up now. I have bolded a couple of statements that I would like you to support with examples. I have asked you to do this previously which you have ignored. I am giving you an opportunity to illustrate what you are speaking of.

If you are looking for me to say it is ok for you to believe one thing and me to believe another and we are both right, you are barking up the wrong tree. If I believe it, I believe it with conviction. I am not into an I'm ok your ok faith. We have a solid foundation to reference in the scriptures, so why shouldn't we believe with conviction?

I will state this as a fact. You will not find personal insults in my posts. What you will find is me asking people to reference their statements of fact with a primary source so that I can research them myself. If this is offensive, I don't know what to tell you.

I just was noticing how much you and Dan seem to talk to each other and no one else, really. I thought as a brother in the Lord I would maybe point out something you hadn't noticed before that would lead to better harmony and brotherhood around here, since that seems to be an issue everywhere on this board.

I didn't really see you putting a theological term to it as much as I saw you telling her that the author and speaker she likes isn't any good.

Then you dismissed me by telling me to take a deep breath and chill. It's an issue bud.

i'd like to point out as a sister in Christ that you are being a might too touchy and taking everything and twisting it into some sort of argument thread. when i read your posts they seem to just attack these two men. so...from one christian to another...take a chill pill. please.

Whoa, guys. Since I've not been asked, I've never yet felt dismissed by the 'boys club' here. I heard Menno say he liked MacArthur but he got kicked off the local radio station. If you look at my flag you'll see I'm in a different time zone so my posts tend to be a little off -centre coming in late, if at all. Which isn't to say I'm not interested, just in & out more. I pop in while HS & running my house & that doesn't make for the most logical or reasoned debate but I am perfectly capable of standing up for myself & always get a giggle out of Amishgirl's post; like her this product will argue if aggitated - & it ain't a pretty sight! Believe me, I will say if I don't think I'm being heard or am being put down but I'm still waiting for that to happen. I understand quite well that bloke's minds work very differently to the way mine does & so long as it doesn't degenerate into a personal slanging match I have no problems dealing with that. I hope we are all cool.
