Intrusive ads

Not sure where else to put this, but...is anyone else getting ads that take up most of the screen? It just started a couple of days ago. If I have the keyboard open, reading posts is like trying to read a broadsheet through a letterbox.

I get that on my phone since they upgraded the website. It makes it all but unusable. I don't have the same problem on my PC.

Why is that? Because they want us to upgrade by spending money. Then when you try and close the Ad. No, it’s still there you have to read through it.

So, what i didn’t understand was the closing of some of the threads. I’m fairly new to this forum. I was jumping on periodically when I saw something interesting. However, recently there’s been great discussions. Maybe, I should have read all the rules. But no, I forged on thinking anything goes. Except, the obvious profanity, blasphemous words, etc. i was shocked when right when things are getting good it’s suddenly closed. At first, I started scratching my head like what happened. Then it says something at the end. Which makes me go and read the rules. But then, I expected for it to open back up later. But no! I feel cheated. Then i feel like a kid being punished for something that I didn’t know was wrong.

Let me add this people would start sounding as if they were yelling. Lol. Names were being called. I think I was actually called ignorant, in which I took offense.But I’m like yeah ok. I can take it. But now i feel like I have received a spanking. And I’m walking a tight rope. It kinda takes the fun out of it for me.

Upgrade and become a supporter. This forum is technically not free. One either pays by receiving ads or pays by becoming a supporter, no ads.

I just use and add block on iOS.

I am, and they are giant and intrusive! I have an adblocker but these push past that. I've reported it but all I get is that they're sorry and they know it's inconvenient.

I wouldn’t mind if it was time-limited (or say, thirty pages), but each and every page I open here, I get the same 15 or 30 second video for drugs (or burger joints).

I understand that the owners have to come up with the scratch to host the forum, and also know that they ain’t ever getting a dime from me and therefore the ads will continue, but if they’re actually trying to find new paying customers, this method would put me off right quick.

We get “blessings”, (mine are just north of 65k) and it used to be, before the “upgrade”, that I could spend 30,000 of them for a month’s worth of Ad free bliss. Sadly now though, these blessing are vestigial and serve no purpose.

My tablet gives me the problem. Plus now and then buttons like 'Reply' won't click and sometimes cut 'n' paste doesn't work. But there's zero problems with my laptop. I use Chrome on each. Using the laptop to write this and everything is fine.

And mine. Only half the screen is visible. Start typing and the keyboard takes up another 25%.

The Brave browser limits most ads but has some of its own, mainly crypto related. On my phone I sometimes have to refresh several times to get a full screen of posts.

they were gone!
No pop-up video, no banner at the bottom; just a “shield” banner up top, with no constant reloading.
It’s nice.
