Greetings to everyone! My name is Ruan and I am currently 20 years old. I am from South Africa. I have never really read the Bible and did not always pray every day. I have been struggling with my belief, due to a lot of negative thoughts. Stuff like: "Why would God send people to Hell?" and "Why can't God just send everyone to Heaven?" and all those types of questions. This year I have begun to negatively think about it all.
One day (a month ago) I stumbled upon a Christian Street Preacher on YouTube sharing the message of God. And a lot of my questions were answered. I also noticed how negative people these days are towards religion, and that there are many that don't accept Jesus Christ. So many people were being aggressive towards the preacher, and not just this one, but others as well. Because of so many questions, it was then, that I decided that I want to study the Bible and to improve my relationship with God. And so I'm starting out reading at Matthew. As soon as I started reading Genesis, I was like "Uhhhhhh, no way. Let me start reading the New Testament." (Too many names, and family structures). I believe I am making the right choice, considering I am understanding most of what is said. Decided I will start with the Old Testament when I am done reading the New Testament. (Considering I am a new Bible reader).
I am aiming to read three chapters a day in the evening. I'm using an online website to read through the 3 chapters. I then read a summary of the three chapters. And then read it again, but in my home language Bible (which is not English). I think this would be a good way for me to remember the chapters and to understand the message. Anyways, I am glad to be here and to build up my faith and relationship with God. And to build up my knowledge of the Bible. Sorry if my writing is awful, been studying Mathematics all morning. And currently, I am a bit tired.
