CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I get the "you look like you are 16" thing all the time too...everyone tells me I'll appreciate it in a few years, but some days, I wonder.
Apparently, I sound young too. I had an amusing argument with a telemarkter a few days ago who wanted to speak to the "woman of the house" and refused to believe that I was it. He kept telling me that he needed to speak to my mom...I kept telling him he had the wrong number.

So I told him I'd have to give him her number! I think he still thought I was a kid and hung up.

That still happens to me! I was watching my friend's baby a week ago and got two calls from telemarketers. I told both I was the sitter and that the homeowner would be home in an hour. They both said, "OK sweet heart, thank you for your help. Bye!" I was cracking up!
What's really funny about that is that I have a very rough voice that men tend to comment on. My husband once had a co-worker who had the weirdest thing for my voice. It really creaped me out. Everytime he saw my husband he would ask I was doing and if my voice sounded the same. eww!
