CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My name is John - Often called JC - purely from initials - no other reason. I'm from the north east of England in a place named Teesside. I work 2 part time jobs both in IT and generally enjoy them most of the time.
I'm currently 28 and working up to 30 slowly and trying to find myself and what direction of life I should be in and hopefully following it.
So catch you around the forums, I've only really been here a few days. Signed up a while ago and lost the site link but a friend got me back so here I am - I hope to have many discussions and make friendships with many of you.

Hello everyone, my name's Keenan and I'm 18 from Vancouver Canada.
I viewed the teen's forum but I think I'll be more comfortable here.
I'm a student/chef upgrading my courses before going into medicine. 5 weeks ago I had a very near death experience and began reading the bible while in the hospital. Shocking to me (a previous critic of christianity) It provided me the strength I needed to make it out of there, and now I'm here to gain some more understanding. Looking forward to good conversations with good people!

Hey -- I'm Alana... I'm 21 from Canada, Saskatchewan to be exact. It's in the middle of Canada for those who don't know. I'm pretty new to CF and find it a bit difficult to navigate some things. There is always a lot of extra stuff on the pages, but I guess I just have to get used to this. I am a year away from graduating with an Industrial Systems Engineering degree.
