CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi I'm Sally.
I used to post at a place called Talk Beliefs for the past couple of years. Most of the time I hated posting there, but I also liked a few of the people there too.
Some of them used to call me a "fundie" but meant it in a derogatory and nasty way, so what the hey, I may as well just give in to my "inner" fundie and hang out with other "fundies."

I'm a new christian who loves Christ, currently attending a fundamentalist baptist church. I believe in the word of God and try to live my life by the bible, im so glad i found this site because i really need some christian friends to fellowship with.

hey there, I've been posting around the boards for a while, but I finally read the guidelines for fundies and cc's and realised that I think I fit here
I absolutely believe the Bible, 100%, inerrant.
My name is Leisa, I've been a Christian for 8 years now!
I remember classifying myself as a fundie Christian at a bible study at university many years ago - and was greeted by crickets and wide eyes!

I am brand new to this forum so take it easy with me .
I believe I most appropriately fall into the fundamentalist category. I believe in the fundamental tenants of Christianity. I believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant word of God. I'm a YEC. I also know what it's like to not be 'accepted' for what you believe, even amongst other Christians.

I am Paul, I am very very new to CF and am unsure of my faith at this time, my partner and the mother of my beautiful daughter recently lost a long and arduous battle with cancer.
Over the past 2 years I lost my faith and am only just am now beginning to re-examine myself and my beliefs. I was once classed as an extreme fundamentalist, but again am unsure of where I fit today.
I look forward to sharing, learning and growing with you all here

I am a currently a member of a Methodist church, but have spent a good part of my life in non-denoms.
I don't fit well with certain segments of modern Methodism. I'm more of a Methodist in the style of John Wesley. I'm extremely serious about my faith. I believe we are called to live obedient and holy lives; that we are to be in the world, but not of it; that we are to live lives of love and service to God and our neighbors; that we are to faithfully stand up for God and His truth in a relativistic culture.

Thank you for your welcome, FJ! It was also nice to hear that someone on CF actually thinks I'm okay. I spend a lot of time in forums here where I am the odd one out, so I wasn't sure there was anyone left on CF who actually liked me!
I guess I should identify myself as more of a guest here than as a true fundamentalist, however I do have strong fundamentalist leanings in some ways.
