CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have had a similar experience growing up in my church with everyone my age drifting away. It wasn't until university that I spent time with Christians my own age. However, I now work in a fairly secular environment which is hard as I often feel isolated and 'different' from everyone around me. But God has me there for a reason and I hope and pray he uses me to save them. Now an elder and Sunday School teacher in my church which is a mix of encouragments with new people coming to church and children asking questions, and sadness with much of the congregation church-goers rather than 'born again' and a lack of involvement and support for the minister.
Wow, a bit deep for an introduction! I'm Andrew and come from Glasgow, the biggest city in Scotland. Been a Christian since I was 16 and most grateful to God for my godly parents.
Anyway, glad to be here and hope to get involved in some interesting discussions!

I'm a freshman at Liberty University, and studying Psychology with a specialization in Christian Counciling. I go on CF in spurts...sometimes I'll be one it everyday, and sometimes it seems like no one is on, so I just...forget about it. So, I'm new to this part of the forums since I remembered that I don't have to stay just in the teen area anymore. 
I look forward to meeting all of you! : D

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah and I'm new here. I'm from Colorado (which I love), but I just graduated from a Master's degree in Glasgow (which I also love) and Krakow. I only very recently (since about June) began my spiritual/religious journey, so I've got a ways to go yet! I don't tend to be particularly good at staying on forums for long periods of time but I'm hoping I will here, both for the friends and the spiritual support. Nice meeting y'all.

I'm Lakatide (not really, obviously, but you know what I mean). I live in one of the larger cities in England, UK. I'm a Catholic Christian. I haven't been a Christian more than a few years, but it's been very good so far (understatement of a life-time). *nods* Like all self-respecting Brits, I like tea.. and cake, esp. chocolate cake. I also like meeting new people and making new friends (wink wink.. ) and helping out with prayer. 
Well, that's me.. in a nutshell. I better stop now, lest I ramble too much.
