okListen to a Calvinist???????? Now that's funny. I'd run from the church that Jesus said, "you have a reputation for being alive, but you are dead." In other words, their message of no sin can separate you from God will lead many suckers to hell.
You are listening to good news teachers who want to fill their pews.
Matthew 7:
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Sunday never became the Sabbath. He died on Friday, rested in the tomb on the Sabbath and rose on Sunday. He rose on the 3rd day.
Sunday: the Sun's Day. Sunday is the seventh day of the week according to the international standard ISO 8601. However, many countries, including the US, Canada and Japan, count Sunday as the first day of the week. Sunday is named after the Sun. The seventh day of the week is the Sun's day.
The Jews say the sabbath is on Saturday. Does it matter what day of the week the Sabbath is?
As long as it is consistently the same day.
"The Sabbath was made for man right?"
Nothing against the Jews, i just see it is as an arbituary issue.
What verses in the International Standard Version Bible says that Sunday is the 7th day?
Show me.
There is a high significance in Sunday being the 8th say, so I doubt the International Standard Version says that Sunday is the 7th day, and changing the Sabbath after so many millennia.
Hi 1CL,
It was ISO not ISV.
God bless,
In Christ, ted
That is only 2 days in the tomb, and we all know it was 3.
So what does that mean then?
I guess you can't count...Friday, Saturday and Sunday… Sunday is the 3rd day.
Hi YH,
Yes, but no matter how you count it out, or what you consider to be worthy of counting as a 'day', you can only get two nights out of it. Friday from dusk to dawn and Saturday from dusk to dawn. Jesus had said that, like Jonah, the Son of Man would be three days and three nights in the earth.
Now, that only leaves a couple of ways that can be. Jesus wasn't correct. The Scriptures are not correct. Our dating is not correct. Personally, I go with man being responsible for the error.
God bless,
In Christ, ted
rose on Sunday, thus he was no longer in the grave. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, buried, rose on SundayI guess you can't count...Friday, Saturday and Sunday… Sunday is the 3rd day.
Thursday to Friday is 1 day. Friday to Saturday, 1 day. Saturday to Sunday, 1 day.I guess you can't count...Friday, Saturday and Sunday… Sunday is the 3rd day.
Even when there is agreement, among people (men of the world),just because you disagree.
And that has nothing to do with what was being discussed, whatsoever.Even when there is agreement, among people (men of the world),
it is , well, not to be trusted.
Remember that as written, "few" find the narrow road to life.
"supposedly" is a possibly good observation - never forget that. (anywhere, anytime, until tested and proven in line with all God's Word). And that has nothing to do with what was being discussed, whatsoever.
For a supposedly "Christian" website, I have never encountered such hatefulness anywhere else. This should not be so.
The Bible does not state the days of the week specifically. I came to the death being Thursday through reasoning.
"Come let us reason together."
I could be wrong. I was not there.
But if Christians cannot even show each other respect in a simple conversation, then how are we like Christ?
"Love one another"
You are avoiding the subject."supposedly" is a possibly good observation - never forget that. (anywhere, anytime, until tested and proven in line with all God's Word).
What is hate ? Why worry about that ? It is daily all over the world, especially against Jesus and Jesus' followers (all the time).
The Bible is the revelation of Yahuweh through Yahushua, and is very clear.
Why some don't see that is unknown sometimes, but is most common.
Besides the subject of the thread, you brought up about 3 or 4 others, and I addressed each one.You are avoiding the subject.
I'm done here.
May God forgive you and lead you in paths of righteousness for His Name's sake.

Thursday to Friday is 1 day. Friday to Saturday, 1 day. Saturday to Sunday, 1 day.
No reason to be insulting just because you disagree.
