  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What do you think of interfaith gatherings?

This is when people of various religious beliefs, especially religious leaders, get together to encourage peace between everyone. Often there are papers to sign showing that we can get along and have something in common and make for a better community in spite of differences.

Peace.
Getting to understand each other, respect each other, and get along-- those are all great.

Playing religion to the common denominator or pretending we have to be identical to get along-- those I'm not a fan of.

I think such meetings are dangerously deceptive. Doing away with the centrality of Christ and the true Gospel message is not something that should ever be done. The truth is that there are not multiple "paths" to God, Jesus is the ONLY Way. The world needs to hear that now as much as ever.
In my experience, interfaith communication is not about trying to weaken the faith of Christian participants. It's just a chance for empathy and understanding. You may not recognize other religions as truth, but I think that's all the more reason to put a face to them.

It is beyond most people's ability or choice.
There is no salvation at all in any other way
besides Y'SHUA MESSIAH , HIS WAY. (rules out all other ways).
I don't see understanding and loving my neighbors as a threat to my faith-- my love of my Lord will persist and even be strengthened by this.

This is a very common humanistic belief, and fatal.
YHWH'S WORD is directly opposed to false religions, no matter what they say of "love, understanding, or peace".
Salvation, Healing, Eternal Life, is not gained by so-called "love, understanding, or peace" when it is
all used anti-christ, "INSTEAD" of CHRIST, as if another way works.

Is your faith in Christ strengthened by believing falsehoods about your neighbors? I don't think any Christian or non-Christian will say that. Your/my/anyone's faith in Christ is not weakened by understanding and loving one's neighbors.

If you knew YHWH'S WORD,
you would know the TRUTH,
and the TRUTH could set you free.

There is no salvation other than what YHWH says.
Period.

Your faith is not life giving when it is not true,
no matter what else you say about anything or anyone else.

Without and apart from Y'SHUA MESSIAH, there is NO SALVATION.
Is your faith in Christ strengthened by believing falsehoods about your neighbors?

Do you have any comprehension of how petty that sounds?

Peace.

Wasn't really aware that these things happen. Seems trivial for the most part. Something to look good at in front of the cameras. Religion belongs to the people, even if people occasionally like to adhere to religious leaders. The moment they step out of line, lots of people tune them out.

How do you feel about being a Christian who embodies Christ? (if you believe in Christ) Would you want to offer the love of Christ to others who are not Christian? (or whatever you can offer from your beliefs)

What about another person who represents their faith? Would you accept the love of Allah from a Muslim? Could you listen and shake hands? Can we have peace and love for one another?
