The 28 Fundamental Beliefs are what I posted initially, but I can post it again. It's found at Beliefs: The Official Site of the Seventh-day Adventist world church.

Alright JojotheBeloved, I am not sure how I missed the original post. I did review the 28 principles and I can honestly say that some of it I am pretty unsure about. The part about Ellen White being a prophet and the part about 1844. Numbers 18 and 24 I was pretty unsure about. As well as some other parts of the eschatology. Much of the statement of faith was pretty basic to traditional Christianity. I still need to spend more time reviewing the 28 tenets so I will try to get back to you later with more thoughts. I am also still studying the issue of the Sabbath so even though I have been keeping it on Saturday for awhile I am still studying and reviewing it. God bless.

The best material I have found for understanding what we believe as adventists is a DVD series called "Revelation Speaks Peace" by Shaun Boonstra.

If you searce Youtube or Vimeo you might find it.... it is a 24 part series of 1 hour seminars each dealing with an aspect of prophesy, the Bible and how and why Adventists believe what they do.

I hope you can find it and watch it, even if you start attending a church as many of the topics covered in the series may not be preached from the church you attend.

I am aware that some people make those claims, but I am unaware as to what instances they are referencing. Without specific references, it's impossible to understand where they're coming from or address the question in an intelligent way. Do you know anything specific we can help you with?

There are definitely despisers of Ellen White out there... after all, Satan doesn't want her words glorifying Christ to be heard or read ... the internet is rife with false, accusations and/or statements taken out of context, that try to show her as something other than what she truly was.

I can honestly vouch, as my study group reads one chapter from her writings every night, that in the dozens of her books we have read (some twice) that there is ZERO validity in the accusations against her or her writings. Prove these things for yourself by reading some of her works... God truly inspired this humble servant for His people at the end of time.

Even if you don't believe she was a prophet, give Ellen White's books a fair shake. Start by reading The Great Controversy - as we've pointed out before. It's the best! One doesn't need to be a prophet to have helpful insight (EastCoastRemnant - that's not to in any way diminish her for those who do believe she was a prophet... I'm just saying she had good things to say either way).

Well the person who said that Ellen White had made some false prophesies was here on Christian forums and they also stated that SDA is a borderline cult. People say a lot of garbage on here that is false though and they didn't give any specific instances of her false prophesies. Maybe I'll go back to that thread and ask. God bless. I agree... her 'status' doesn't add to or diminish from the words she was given to write.

The people on these forums who claim SDAs are a cult etc. are just bitter and trying to stir up trouble. Often they just want to argue and their arguments are not intelligent critiques but rather heated and bitter attacks that often aren't thought through. Do your own research and come to your own conclusions.

I apologize I haven't been around here much. I have several other threads going. One is a Sabbath debate. I will try to make more time for this thread. I am going to try to visit a SDA Church this Saturday. I called them several times but I still haven't been able to talk to the Pastor. I left a message today asking for a ride but he never called back.

Sometimes I get scared I'm going to die without getting close enough to God. I almost died 2 weeks ago in the hospital. I really want to review the materials and make it to Church on Saturday so I can see what a SDA Church is like. I feel like there are too many road blocks keeping me from going. I lost my car and since I've been sick I can't walk much anymore so everywhere I go I have to take taxis unless I can find a ride. I guess life just seems really hard. Christ have mercy.
