Hey

I find that I pray for my friends/family and strangers alot. Believers and non believers. I sometimes say to God "please may you be with my friends in school who don't see You. And if they mock You, please put your anger on me and not on them". I don't know if that is an OK thing to pray for though. I will pray more about it but I would also appreciate your comments. I have also been praying for the burdens of others but I don't feel like I have a burden lol...

Does anyone have experience of "intercession". What happened to the person that they were praying for?

Thanks

Your prayer is good, but their anger is not your burden to bear.. you should pray that God will opened their eyes, and they will see their weakness and thus gain understanding. Pray that God turns their anger into joy through Him.

And yes, I have most certainly seen people turn to God after many were praying for them. God says that there are many at work.. some who plant seeds, others who reap the harvest..

You do not know what rewards the seeds you plant will one day bring. While you may not get to see the ultimate change in your friends hearts, you are planting seeds so that one day others may harvest the fruit.

Blessings

You know what, I don't think it's helpful to think of yourself as an intercessor. There is one intercessor between God and man, Jesus Christ. As you try to assume the mantle, you are thinking more and more how things depend on you. Did you say the prayer right, what would happen if you didn't, it the praryer okay.

I really don't think that you should take such a burden on.

Pray for people. Don't pretend to be their intercessor.

umm I think real intercession is really really heavy praying...there was a man who did nothing but interceeded while he was alive...he prayed so much that his heart, the physical cardiovascular organ which pumps blood, was shifted across his chest.. which side is the heart on? left or right? well whichever side its on, the heart moved to the other end of the chest...thats how much intercession he did...

from what I hear, real intercessors are hard to find...real intercessors will suffer themselves in place of the sinner as they are interceeding...and yes intercessory prayers are very edifying to the Body of Christ because prayer is powerful and real intercessory prayers I think, is praying at maximum capacity. the person will fast (hardcoredly) and pour out their tears and soul to God continuously day and night without ceasing...

Beloved... the sweetness of God's love just drips from you... you have SPIRIT in the best sense.

Keep praying for your friends and all those people. If you want to learn how to have more effective prayers (yes, some people get extraordinary results!PTL) may I suggest studying how Jesus prayed for His flock and how the apostals prayed for the people in the early church. When I did this, it changed things big time!

Most all those prayers asked for God to make these people strong... prayers for strength during adversity, for patience during trails, for loving caring hearts during hard times.

And if they mock You, please put your anger on me (Don't every say that, because you will bring Satan and his forces down on you!) and not on them". You just ask our Lord Jesus Christ to protect them and to minister to them, and you send you love to them, but don't every ask our Lord to put HIS Wrath on you. I don't know if that is an OK thing to pray for though. I will pray more about it but I would also appreciate your comments. You hand all your burdens over to our Lord Jesus Christ, you don't put burdens onto yourself.

Just ask our Lord to take over your burdens and don't take them back from HIM.

If a blind man was to bump into you how angry would you be at him? Your friends who do not know Jesus are blind. GOD ain't angry.

The Intercessor

My works are like a grain of sand on the beach of GOD's grace
As I struggle and falter in this part of the race

Unable to continue I stop to rest
And watch as others give their best

From somewhere I find the strength to rise
And throw off the burden of an enemy's lies

Unknown to me one has stopped to assist
Seeing what others conveniently missed

Caring enough to lift me in prayer
And loving enough my burden to share

As the weary rises to run once again
Strengthened by the love of an unknown friend

Intercessor's prayers fly as on wings
No one hears as the sea gull sings

Flying above the turmoil of sin
Intercessor's watch begins

Night is nearing and the tide is rising
Intercessor searches and listens for crying

Of those too weak or are stuck in sin
Unable to escape a past or what may have been

As Intercessor plants his prayers with tears
The Spirit strengthens and frees from fears

The tide comes in at the feet of the saint
As he walks away freely without restraint

Ever present but rarely sought
this vision of prayer is set at naught

As others seek proof of gifts and power
Intercessor watches for one more hour

.....peace....
