I haven't read this entire thread, mainly do to the headache the first post gave me, but honestly, let me ask this:

Are you serious? Take a look into a history book. More people have died at the hands of "professed" christians than muslims. Hitler grew up in the church. Need I say more? Of course I do, you've already dismissed me! How about this one word:

Crusades.

Well....to be fair the numbers are probably about equal. Christians have recieved more publicity, but I'd say that historically speaking they are only slightly ahead on the curve of atrocities. Allthough admittedly the Crusaders being cannibals ranks pretty high up on the list.

And, again to be fair, Hitler grew up in a Roman Catholic family and he DID attend church, however he stopped the second he left home. Which indicates he probably wasnt too into it

Where's the War on Conflict Diamonds? That creates daily terror in the lives of so many people, mames thousands of people, yet it doesn't seem to be a big issue in the "War on Terror" at all.

The "peaceful" muslims arn't aware of what their quran says and/or arn't doing anything. Do you know any peaceful muslims stopping the radical ones? If so, I want a very detailed report on how they are stopping them with your list of resources. Presently, they having nothing to show for their efforts.

The U.S. needs to come out of the pipe dream and wake up to reality. I thought 9/11 was reality enough.

---Note: This isn't a "phobia". The correct term for the word phobia is when someone is radically afraid of something and it is diagnosed as a mental illness. This is called self defense folks!! When people use the term islam phobia or whatever phobia they mislabel it and obviously don't know what the word is defined as.

Please, please, go to your dictionary and look up what a word means before you use it - that way you will at least appear educated.

what are you doing to stop the Pro-life suicide bombers? I guess you are responsible for that, too.

If your house is broken into and the culprit arrested, you don't mind if we let him go free because another burglary down the street thirty years ago was never solved, do you? Go ahead and pull some scripture out that says you should be 'bashing' Islam at all. Go ahead. I'll be waiting.

And for the record, the Crusades were started because WE (Christians) decided to "retake" (as if we had it before) the holy land from Muslim Rule. Of course, we viewed it as a holy war, since we all know Muslims shouldn't be given the same rights as us christians. Heaven forbid if a muslim country wanted to do what everyone else was doing at the time and try to get more land for themselves.

Do a little research before you start getting all cozy on your soapbox.

The ignorance actually made me chuckle. Didn't quite meet the level of oblivious self-parody the last one did, but it was still highly entertaining. Looking forward to your next one.

There are still areas of the Muslim world where Christians are referred to as Crusaders. While we have chosen to move on, its still very much on the mind of others.

What happend at Ma`arat al-Numan is still readily told in the Muslim world.

And I hate to nitpick, but the Crusades were a response to an inflated Muslim threat. Bedouin raiders had been attacking pilgrim caravans (the Bedouins opperated outside the jurisdiction of the local Caliphs) and this was inflated beyond proportion by the pope because of his desire to re-capture the Holy Land.

Can you show me where Christ told his followers to flat out hate people of other faiths and/or walks of life?

Don't inspect the speck in my eye if there's a log in yours. (I use the term 'my' and 'your' loosely. Not talking about you specificly, but about christians in general.)

I'm so tired of responses like this. "Obviously _____ isn't a 'real' christian." Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't God/Christ the only person who can see into a man's true heart of hearts?

Also, no one has a copyright on the title "Christian" except those who are actually living a life that follows Christ's example. Last I checked, most self-proclaimed christians in the U.S. live in houses, own cars, and (most) have 3 meals a day.

On the other hand, there ARE still groups of people getting killed for believing in Christ in other countries. So who are we to cry about how 'hard' it is to live in the U.S., with the homosexuals wanting to be considered fully human/american, or with the ability to go to Church and not fear the police to burst in and arrest us for holding a church meeting that wasn't government/state sanctioned?

I'm just tired of having to hear about the Crusades every time I point out the repeated butcheries that Islam and Muslims have carried out worldwide. Number one, that was long, LONG before anyone alive today was born. Number two, the Crusades were a series of WARS, not one-sided slaughter like on 9/11. Number three, the Muslim apologists need to stop blame-shifting. Like I said in an earlier post, their tired arguments would be like Charles Manson's lawyer arguing Charles should go free because Jack the Ripper did the same thing.

Nonsense. When a crime is committed, the accused cannot get out of gaol just because others committed the same crime hundreds of years ago. I can't go shoot a man in the head, and when I am arraigned tell the judge that what I did was nothing compared to the ravages of Genghis Khan, and how dare anyone try and prosecute me when no one arrested Genghis.

And as far as Muslims refusing to leave the past behind, THAT is the major stumbling block to progress in the Muslim world: clinging to the Middle Ages.

You dont seem to understand, regardless of how long ago that was, its still considered relevant in the Muslim world.

I dont think either side holds the banner for most atrocities (Allthough Christian armies were more organized about thiers) but the Crusades are still something that people in the Middle East talk about.

We may have forgotten (Partly because we want to) but Crusader soldiers slaughtering and EATING Muslims, that doesnt go away easily.

No one is suggesting that terrorists not be prosecuted. Im simply stating that your understanding of why people in the Middle East dont like us and some of who see the insurgents in Iraq as freedom fighters is lacking. You arent considering everything.

What else do they have to go on? Every contact with the West they have is through violence. Our soldiers are there now treating people like dirt, what do you expect? Every single involvement we have with the Middle East involves war or us trying to get something from them.

Muslims are not going to take over the United States of America. That simply is not going to happen. And if the majority of Americans convert to Islam, that's their right. I personally will stick with Catholicism and won't be joining them though.
