  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I put integrity; that said, I think we're using a lot of different definitions for it here.

We need a dictionary that everyone can agree on, stat!

Intelligence is not a matter of the gifts you have been given, but how you choose to use them.

Very true.

I didn't vote, because the question is really too broad to have a yes-or-no answer, and it all depends on how someone uses the terms involved. Perhaps I could have answered if a definition of "integrity" and a definition of "intelligence" was given, but without it, the answer requires about 2000 words and possibly an annotated bibliography

Working on it, but we've been stuck at 'atheist' for awhile now :D

Nonsense !

Atheists are the followers of Atheism, a religious belief system that worships science, evolution (which includes abiogenesis and cosmology) and abortion. An atheist is also defined by his anger towards god and his need to sin, they are almost exclusively homosexual and the vast majority are communist.

Intelligence, I expect intelligent people will come to rational conclusions on integrity, and be good moral people anyways

But unintelligent people, what good is integrity in the hands of an idiot?

Hitler was very intelligent, as was Jeffrey Dahmer I hear, and Hannibal. However, I have met mentally retarded people who are quite good, but not very bright, and they have proven themselves quite potent nonetheless

This poll is pointless - asking a question like this is just a false dichotomy. It's like asking somebody "what would you give up, your heart or your brain"?

"what would you give up, your heart or your brain" This is what they should put on the NHS organ donor cards.

Personally, if I am killed in a road acident or similar tragedy and they find my donor card it will allow them only to take my intelligence and integrity as a single entity and use them for someone less well endowed (no particular religion specified).

Sorry, but I have the foggiest idea of what you are trying to say.

And before the war broke out, the English WW1 veterans who met Hitler, what did they say? "What a nice chap" is what they said

As for mentally retarted people, nice, well a flower pot is nice too, and having a conversation with either would be just as interesting
