• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What inspires you? I thought we could have a thread dedicated to anything we find inspiring, such as amazing locales, interesting designs & innovations, art, architecture, videos, music, etc. I'm planning on posting in this thread daily (treating it like a blog), and anyone else is more than welcome to post anything that inspires them.

When I see colleagues go above and beyond duty, I feel inspired. There's a couple of charge nurses in my unit, who does this, they don't just sit by the nurses' station but they offer help to anyone who needs help (they do med passes, help with admissions, help with procedures, etc.), they have this proactive spirit going on. Certain doctors too, they feel for when nurses are busy, and they do what they can do to easen the workload. The floor runs smoothly when the "dream team" is in session lol.

The Maldives

A beautiful island country, located in the Arabian sea. It's also one of the most geographically dispersed countries in the world, comprised of over 1190 individual islands, but also the smallest Asian country in terms of land area and population. I love the peace, beauty and tranquility of tropical environments in general.

Sometimes TV shows, video games, music, and stories inspire me to make stories and/or drawings, but I don't seem to get inspired as much as I used to.
I'm sorry to hear that Multifavs, I hope you're able to respark that source of inspiration you once had. =)

One thing that helps me is to find out what inspires others, or just being out in nature and seeing God's handiwork. Seeing people really appreciate and enjoy the work I do also helps motivate and inspire me as well.

I think one of the things that gives me inspiration is just the outdoors. Especially morning, or if it is raining. :D Being alone or discussions with others also can inspire me. Learning new things. Writing with no purpose except to express myself.

Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Russia

3.jpg

Designed by a team of architects, under the management of tsar Konstantin Thon, and built in 1849 (requiring about 12 years to complete). The palace was formerly Thon's official residence in Moscow, and was meant to "emphasize the greatness of Russian autocracy". It is 125 meters long (410 ft.), 47 meters high (154 ft.), and around 25,000 square meters (82,021 sq. ft.) in total area.

Blue Lagoon - Iceland

13.jpg

The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa located in southwestern Iceland and situated within a lava field. The man-made lagoon was officially opened to the public in 1992, after word spread of its supposed healing powers.

Water is fed into it every two days via output of a nearby geothermal power plant. The warm waters are reported to help people suffering from skin disease, due to being high in minerals such as sulfur and silica. The lagoon is also used for research and development, to help find cures for other skin-related conditions and diseases.

Giant Crystal Cave - Chihuahua, Mexico

8.jpg

A real life Fortress of Solitude that even Superman would be envious of. Located 300 meters (980 ft.) deep below the earth's surface within the Naica mine, the Cave of the Crystals or Giant Crystal Cave is a wonder to behold. It consists of the largest selenite crystals in the world.

Although, with the cave's air temperature hovering around 58 °C (136 °F), and with humidity ranging from 90 to 99 percent, the conditions are too extreme to remain for longer than 10 minutes. Researchers and miners had to use special refrigeration suits in order to harvest precious ores from the area, and even then could only do so for up to 40 minutes at a time.

In 2017, the cave was abandoned and reflooded, which will allow the crystals to continue growing even larger.
