This I did not know! I'm still recoveirng from the shock, though it makes a lot of sense now that I think about it.

Ok, I did one of those Myber Briggs personality tests years ago and never remembered much from it other than the letters INFJ which are suppose to correlate to my personality.

Well out of curiousity I googled INFJ, just to see if I rediscovered anything interesting...

One percent! The most rare personality type! :o

I wonder if this has something to do with why I'm single.

(oh, and I just checked abother website and it said INFJ's are 2-3% of americans, but it is still the lowest percentile of all the other personality types)

hmmm well I think there are some things in that discription that are spot on about me, other things that are way off. Actually I think when i took that test, I never could identify with a specific personality type which I suppose is kind of scary .

INFJs are rarely at complete peace with themselves - there's always something else they should be doing to improve themselves and the world around them. They believe in constant growth, and don't often take time to revel in their accomplishments

I have to show that to my mom as well as all my friends who think I'm too hard on myself! hahaha....I KNEW I was made this way!!!!

INFJs are hard to get to know. They have an unusually rich inner life, but they are reserved and tend not to share their reactions except with those they trust. Because of their vulnerability through a strong facility to introject, INFJs can be hurt rather easily by others, which, perhaps, is at least one reason they tend to be private people. People who have known an INFJ for years may find sides emerging which come as a surprise. Not that INFJs are inconsistent; they are very consistent and value integrity. But they have convoluted, complex personalities which sometimes puzzle even them.

Yeah, it resonates a lot with me, too, actually. My "P" preference is very weak, so your type is a very close second to describing me well.

Isn't it just so much fun being the oddball?


One interesting factoid: Only about a quarter of the population is made up of introverts. So we're surrounded by 75% people who experience social interaction in a fundamentally different way from us. Not to mention, North American culture places a high value on extroversion, placing the introvert even more on the outside than we already are by temperament.


I find this stuff pretty interesting -- I was a psych major, and personality was one of my focus areas.

Hmm... Kiersey seems to think that ENTP would be a good match for INFJ. (ESTP is mentioned, too, but the profile for that type doesn't recommend INFJ.)

The identical personality (were such theoretically possible) probably wouldn't be a good fit -- we need at least some complementarity.
