  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Each of the 8 Myers-Briggs traits can take a value that is either
infinite
Finite (strong-moderate-weak)
infinitesimal
0

Therefore there are 8^4 major personality types

Females have finite empathy but only an infinitesimal amount of anti-empathy
Males have finite anti-empathy but only an infinitesimal amount of empathy

Animals which dont care for their young have both infinitesimal empathy & infinitesimal anti-empathy
Undomesticated animals have infinitesimal sympathy & infinitesimal anti-sympathy but only after puberty or whenever the mother ordinarily ceases to care for them
People with Autism have infinitesimal curiosity & infinitesimal anti-curiosity
People with Asperger's have infinitesimal time-curiosity & infinitesimal anti-time-curiosity

A being with zero empathy & zero anti-empathy would experience neither anger nor sadness, wouldnt require sleep, and would have none of our human failings or limitations

Floating point numbers are ideal for the brain which must operate over many orders of magnitude while only requiring a few digits of accuracy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just-noticeable_difference
the entire floating point number is described by:
(-1)^sign × 2^(exponent) × 0.mantissa

The largest possible number (E=FFFF & M=FFFFFFFF) can be used to represent ±∞
The smallest possible nonzero number (E=-FFFF & M=0.000001) can be used to represent ±1/∞
This ability of the brain to represent infinity is something that gets us into a lot of trouble

The infinitesimal is insignificant when compared to ANY finite quantity.
ANY finite quantity is insignificant when compared to the infinite.
Anyone that can comprehend "insignificance" can comprehend infinity

You cant buy much with infinitesimal money. Not even at the dollar store!

The image is self explanatory but I should probably explain what I mean by "time-curiosity".
How might we describe love? Its a desire to bring all the people of the world together and cooperate and build a civilization and yes send the occasional criminal to jail.
Curiosity works the same way except with thoughts instead of people. Its a desire to bring together all ones thoughts into a coherent theory and yes give the occasional false idea the axe.
Time-curiosity would the desire to bring together many different plans into a given "time".
A trivial example would be to combine your plan to go to Walmart with your plan to go to Walgreens because the Walgreens is located next door to the Walmart.
"When" you go to Walmart it is a good "time" to go to Walgreens.

Extraverts focus on outward appearance. Introverts focus on the underlying reality
It is not at all true that introverts are loners. Introverts are very sociable
Introverts just don't like mindless mobs of people judging them by their appearance

The cerebellum knows "how" to do things & has thousands of hands which can juggle thousands of things at once but it has no clue "what" it is doing
The cerebellum takes care of simple procedures so the forebrain can concentrate on more important issues. It also helps the midbrain accomplish its tasks
You point & the cerebellum shoots but sometimes it misses your mark

You see what you want to see & if you truly want to see what the facts say when they are allowed to speak for themselves then you will indeed see that too

Intuition can't tell you whether a given idea is true or not but if used objectively it does tell you whether that idea is reasonable or not
The most reasonable possibility tends to be (but isnt always) the correct one

Desires are normal & healthy. You desire things because they are desirable
Cravings are unhealthy. You crave things because they are forbidden (dammed)
Libido should be channelled not dammed (neurosis). There is a time for everything
