"most likely" hmmm sounds confident.

Again.... wow. What you must glean from newspapers these days.

OK......That's not what I mean.. You keep missing the point...
My point:

It says household...this does not mean children. Records of this time disregard children and women in most cases... There is confidence that men and women were.. but people in the day would understand that children were not.

It is not explicit....

Again..... ugh... households does not mean infants, children, women and children...

We have no reason to believe that women would not be.. but.. it does not mean children... You cannot claim that.. based on methods of recording of that day..

It is only you..............assuming.

I disagree.

Households
means households - including children.

You still haven't answered my question - why would people who have discovered the great new thing of Christian baptism leave their children out of having it?

Jack pointed out the NT counts men not everyone there when giving record his example is the 5000 it counts the men not women an children

The passage is about one eunuch. I was asking how the counting of the 5000 applies to that passage.

Except that the Bible itself refutes that theory.

Acts 16:33 New International Version (NIV)

33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.

The problem is, even if they haven't done anything wrong, they're still born in bondage to sin - a condition passed on to them by our first ancestors. That must be dealt with if they are to be free in the Lord.
And... how is this accomplished?

It can be accomplished via baptism.
So, finally.... Baptism saves?

What of the child that has, unfortunately, chosen atheist parents or parents that don't believe in infant baptism.. and the infant dies?

"Finally?" I've said as much a number of time on CF going back to the time I first joined.

Children choose their parents now?

They did not "discover' a great new thing of Baptism..

They were taught this first, by John the baptist.. and then by Christ and His apostles.

To answer the main question.. you don't baptize someone who has no concept of sin, accepting Christ or why they would be baptized.

Baptizing anyone who has no mental capability to comprehend sin and salvation, is unnecessary.

These are saved by God's grace as they are not held accountable for things that they are innocent of by total ignorance.

Akin originally to the Saturday night bath

"The new significance that Christianity read into the word "Baptism," and the new purpose with which it executed the act of Baptism, as well as the conception of its magical effect, are all in the line of the natural development of Christianity. The original form of Baptism—frequent bathing in cold water—remained in use later among the sects that had a somewhat Jewish character, such as the Ebionites, Baptists, and Hemerobaptists (compare Ber. iii. 6); and at the present day the Sabeans and Mandeans deem frequent bathing a duty (compare Sibyllines, iv. 164, in which, even in Christian times, the heathens are invited to bathe in streams)."

What about it? Philip baptized the eunuch.
Once again

what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

OK, that's because the eunuch was a consenting adult--and a believer. We do not baptize people who reject Christ, and this was what Philip needed to know with regard to the eunuch.

There is, however, no justification for concluding that young children must be excluded from baptism on this basis. There is nothing in the passage that says such a thing or, for that matter, that only eunuchs are eligible. But that conclusion is just as reasonable as saying that only adults are to be baptized...if we take your approach to the verse.
