  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi folks.
I don't have any children and don't know the toy scene so I would appreciate some suggestions.

My church is doing stockings for the 25 kids in the small town in which I live. I have $300 for 25 kids. The ages range from 2-14.

anyone?

Oreintal Trading - I ordered my AWANA girls those 'faith bead' braclets. Really nice ones. They were like $8 for 12.

Fruit and nuts make good stocking stuffers...that's realitively cheap.

Coloring books and crayons are cheap.

You could see if you could get any of your local dentist offices to donate some toothbrushes and trial sizes of toothpaste.

Candy canes and other christmas candies

Check the dollar store for some inexpensive hair accessories for the girls...or nail polish. And I'm sure you could find plenty of other inexpensive gifts there.

Good luck and bless you guys for your genorosity.

At lunch today I went into my local Christian Book store and they had tons of neat things: pencils, bracelets, erasers, hackey-sacks for really cheap and they have Jesus sayings printed on them. They also had some neat clean jokes books, God's promises books. I'd also check out a Dollar Tree if they have one near you. I also plan to get some Dr. Pepper flavored Jelly Belly jelly beans for my kids stockings this year. Ring Pops are cheap and kids love them.

The Dollar Stores are great places to find stocking stuffers. Okay, here's a few other ideas too:
* (don't laugh) Toys from Happy Meals
* (don't laugh again) toys from cereal boxes (hehehe can you get to them BEFORE your kids do? LOL)
* for girls - Bonne Bell chapsticks (all those yummy flavors)
* for boys -Hotwheels cars
* small stuffed animals
* crayons, markers, coloring pencils, Christmas pencils
* toothbrushes (I do that one every year!) & those "sample" size toothpastes
* for girls - those little bottles of "body spray" (not so strong like regular perfume)
* for girls - hair "pretties" (as I like to call them), nail polishes, diaries
* for boys - action figures or trading cards, journals
* card games

Here's an idea for stocking stuffers for teen girls: Go to a store called Claire's (almost every young teen girl will know of it). They have surprise bags for $1 and they have very nice things inside that make great stocking stuffers like cute earrings, hair accessories or trinket boxes, etc.. Stop back several times because the gifts inside keep changing.
