  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I guess i am the Only Indian Here.. :(

Hi there! No you're not the only Indian on this website! I'm also from India, originally. I was born in Cochin, Kerala but moved to the UK in 1994.
I know Tamil Nadu fairly well of course! Its Kerala and TN that go together to give South India its uniqueness. I've visisted Madras a couple of times and my aunty lives there permanently. My dad, was actually born in Tamil Nadu, even though he is a Malayalee of course!!
Its just that his family once used to live in TN for a brief period, in Coimbatore.

Hey i am interested in the status of those who are in your lowest caste sytem, from the mouth of a native indian.

And I understand that the system is no longer in place, I just want to know their current status and how they are treated by those whose ancestry is of higher castes.

Thanks

I love India. I was there for four weeks two years ago and am praying about going back to teach when I finish school! I am trying to learn Hindi. Practice would be great...anyone know Hindi? Any tips?

I can teach you some Hindi! I can understand quite a bit and I can also speak in HIndi fairly well.
A good tip if you wanna learn Hindi would be to get hold of some good Hindi movies and watch them. You can even purchase Hindi movie DVD's and VHS online. Try 'play.com', they have a good Hindi section.
Let me know how you get on!!

oph yeah, how are the waves there in the India Ocean?

Well I was born right next to the Arabian sea which merges with the Indian ocean further south of the subcontinent. My native home city is Cochin.
I never really checked out the waves while I was living in India because it didn't really interest me since I'm more of a land lover! But I have heard that the Indian ocean between East Africa and India can get pretty rough! Also further north the sea between Arabia and India can also be wild sometimes but I think its pretty tame most of the time. However the Indian ocean is not as amazing or as exciting as the ones next to Australia and America!!!

hmmph... you've obviously never been to the west coast of Aussieland then... I'm guessing you're talking about the Pacific Ocean on the east coast. Also the Southern Ocean on the south coast and the Indian Ocean on the west coast. There are some great waves just south of Perth in Augusta and Margaret River, so I've heard. Also up north of Perth (the coast in between Leeman and Greenhead (also Indian Ocean), if anyone has heard of those places) is sposed to be one of the best places in the world for windsurfing.

You only have to look at a decent map or globe to work just how amazing the waters off the east coast of Australia really are. Also the seas just off the North coast are also famous for being riddled with nasty waves. Pirates from South East Asia operate in the Northern seas apparently.

I will admit, the beaches on the south coast of NSW (ie Jervis Bay) are great. But alot of the beaches elsewhere on the east coast aren't very nice looking. I believe there are more much nicer looking beaches and coastline in WA. Alot of the coastline on the east coast is becoming too crowded "commercialised" and built up. It destroys the natural landscape and the wildlife are being forced out. The Leuwin Current along the West Coast also means the temperature of the water usually remains fairly constant the whole year round... not sure if theres an equvilant on the east coast.

There are alot of pirates and illegal immigrants along the north coast (most near the north of WA and NT). Would love to go swimming one day with the whale sharks up north on the Ningaloo Reef (north WA).
