Exactly. Was there a rebellion in 2016 that I missed? Did the Army have to lay siege to the White House to pry Obama out of it?
Wait, here is a picture of Obama standing right there at Trump's inauguration. He does not appear to be in handcuffs.
Yes Jill Stein technically brought it about but the Dems with Hillary said they wanted to cooperate with it. She never rebuked Stein for bring it forth. Second electoral college individuals were pressured to change their vote. Did that seem like a peaceful transition of power? Plus a list of other things a mile long. What?
Pretty much everyone acknowledged Trump as the genuine winner of the election. Many looked forward to a day when we dismantle the electoral college. But Trump was seen as the legally legit president all around by the rules we have.
There were no stupid lawsuits and only one recount demanded.... and that was by the Green party candidate.
She actually didn't say this the night of the election. and even after she did became a resister always leaving the impression that Trump was illegitimate. Sorry but that's not a real peaceful transfer of power.Exactly.
And this headline from The Guardian, which was typical:
Hillary Clinton concedes presidential election to Donald Trump: 'We must accept this result'
Yeah it was. We have hindsight. No resistance. No obstructions. Accept it. Get on with life. She actually didn't say this the night of the election. and even after she did became a resister always leaving the impression that Trump was illegitimate. Sorry but that's not a real peaceful transfer of power.
Unfortunately this election is turning into and even larger mess than I had anticipated. I had little doubt that the courts were going to get involved because both parties had assembled large legal teams but honestly this has become a worst case scenario because it is so close that regardless of what the final determination is one half of our country is going to be convinced that they were cheated out of victory. This situation could turn into street fight, my hope would be that if the courts take their time the population will cool down and we can get past this as a nation without it becoming a major turning point in the history of our nation. From what I can see now, Trump has indicated he will request a recount in Wisconsin. It is worth noting, unless noted, states require the campaign requesting the recount to pay the costs of the recount -- though they are "forgiven" or refunded if the winner of the election changes or (depending on state) if there is a "substantial" change in the vote count.
Michigan: It appears that the only way a recount can be requested in Michigan is if the Trump campaign alleges that some specific act of fraud or mistake, and that will only cause a recount in the precincts where the fault is alleged.
Arizona: Arizona will trigger an automatic recount if the vote count ends closer than 0.1% (one-tenth of one percent). There is no way to request a recount.
Nevada: It appears there are no requirements to request a recount, either side can request one -- in fact, it appears that any Nevada voter can request a recount.
Georgia: A recount can be requested if the vote ends up with a margin of 0.5% or less. Additionally, it appears Georgia is one of the few states that pays for the recount.
North Carolina: There is an automatic recount if an "error" is found by the state during the count. Additionally, the campaigns can request a recount if the vote total is less than 1%. North Carolina is another state where campaigns are not charged for requesting a recount.
Pennsylvania: If the margin is less than 0.5% there is an automatic recount. Otherwise, recounts can be requested with no requirements.
It will be interesting to see if any automatic recounts are triggered. Trump's campaign has said they will request a recount in Wisconsin, and I'm guessing they'll allege "irregularities" in Michigan to have a recount, with the only question is how much of the state they'll request recounts in. I also suspect if Trump ends Pennsylvania that they will request the recount.
Any guesses as to what other states recounts will be requested in?
Regardless of who wins the election, you will probably hear cries of, "foul play" from the losing side (whoever it may be). I am so disgusted about how divided our nation is right now. There is way too much hate and division in America! People can say all they want about Trump, but I am way more concerned about having a liberal Democrat as President. I would be even more concerned if the Democrats controlled the house, the senate and the supreme court. If that ever happens, God help us!!! I also find it interesting how all the liberals, radicals, anti-Americans etc.. all unanimously hate Trump with a passion, which has always been a red flag for me.Unfortunately this election is turning into and even larger mess than I had anticipated. Trump claimed Obama was illegitimate during Obama's entire eight years.
"Peaceful" would include requesting a recount. Happens frequently. As for "electoral college individuals were pressured to change their vote," I'd expect you to bring forth some evidence of that.
Trump will request a recount anywhere he lost by a small margin (that law allows). I would do the same (but I would lock Rudy in a sound proof room).

Do any of the "mile long" list include violence? Because so far I'm not seeing how any of the examples you've come up with are anything but peaceful.Yes Jill Stein technically brought it about but the Dems with Hillary said they wanted to cooperate with it. She never rebuked Stein for bring it forth. Second electoral college individuals were pressured to change their vote. Did that seem like a peaceful transition of power? Much drama, very wow.Unfortunately this election is turning into and even larger mess than I had anticipated. That will be an improvement from 2016, where there were calls of foul play from the winner.Regardless of who wins the election, you will probably hear cries of, "foul play" from the losing side

What, in your opinion, is to happen to those 'ballots' that are on the wrong paper stock, having the incorrect security features? How do you think that should be handled in a court of law?
That becomes a significant problem. The knee jerk answer is to disallow them. But if they were put in the mailbox of unsuspecting people the kneejerk rewards those who did so.
Of course such a case has to surface before we can worry about the details.
Onto your point... I simply do not care. If the votes are illegal they do not get counted. We have had 'hanging chads' invalidate votes before. I honestly believe it is high time to fight fire with thermobaric-napalm.
Are you talking about this point ?Of course such a case has to surface before we can worry about the details.
