I have just been a wreck all week. I failed my driving test (Yes, I'm 20 and getting my license for the first time) and my mother, whom I live with, is going up north for a week so now that I don't have my license I'll be stuck in the house all the time. I'm contacted everyone I know and they all seem to be busy or have not responded back.

Also, I've been terribly sick. I think I got food poisoning. I had to miss two classes and I'm in a wreck about that. Anyone who has gone/goes to college/uni probably knows how I feel. I wanted to go, but I was going to the bathroom every 10 minutes it didn't seem the best thing. Now I'm trying to complete my homework and I can't even figure out my own notes XP

I'm about to have a nervous breakdown here! If anyone can offer any form of comfort or even advice....I really REALLY need it right now.

Hey there.....
I gotta tell you...I didn't get my driver's lisence until I was 27 years old. I failed my test the first time too (can you believe...I was speeding on my test...instant failure!). Now, here I am at 41 driving the streets of Raleigh, NC (and anyone who lives here can appreciate the miracle of that alone) like an old pro. I know you can do it. I will be praying that God will give you peace (to replace anxiety) and will help you to relax and focus.
I, too, went to college and I can remember a dream I kept having...one where I realize that I forgot to take a very important exam or class and because of that I would not be allowed to graduate. I can remember university being very stressful. I missed classes here and there and failed tests here and there...but I made it through it (Thanks be to God) and am now a teacher for students with handicaps...been for over 15 years. A lot of us can relate to your experiences. I notice that you have an agnostic icon. I would encourage you to seek God. I would not have gotten through so many hard times in my life if I was to walk alone in it all. Jesus has been a wonderful and peaceful presence for me and a constant friend. He loves you so much. I will pray for you that you will find peace in Him. I hope you will pray for that too. God bless you dear.

Just to make you both feel really bad, I got my licence first go :)

Seriously tho, one of the people at my college is 25 and only just got her learners licence. (Don't know what the rules are there but here you get yer L's at 16 and keep em for at least 6 month and untill ur 17 and can only drive if there is a fully licensed driver next to you)

Thank you both. I value your words greatly. Crossrunner, you live in Raleigh NC? That's where I live! Where do you teach? Ironically, I failed for speeding as well. heh.
Cool!!! I'll PM you where I teach.

You can testify that driving in this fair town can be very difficult. Hang in there! I know you'll pass on your second try. (I did).:thumbsup:

My father told me a story about when he was a college student. He was stressed about a mid-term, and an older family member said to him "What will it matter in a hundred years?", and his stress was gone.

Not that we shouldn't care about anything, but we need to keep some perspective. Think back to the last crisis in your life, you survived it.

This, too, will pass.

hi first things first;get in bed or on the couch find a bucket{emergencies}and lots to drink{lots and lots of water and for strength a little fruit juice but no orangejuice the sweet stuff is what you need}
you missing college isnt your fault, you just cant help it.....and hey not that its a good thing but I sometimes miss{or even skip}college and Im doing fine.
my brother has failed to obtain his driving liscense 4 times!!
look at it from the bright side when you get more lessons you will become a better driver and your chances to get in an accident{which in the first year are the biggest}will be smaller because you are better trained.
about you being alone in the house:CALL YOUR FRIENDS AND PARTY

It's a good thing that you don't have your liscence...sounds to me like you need to use that time to study, study, study...am I right? So spend some good bit of time studying your brains out. I'll be praying that everything works out well for you.
