I am in love with a man who raped me. He was not cruel toward me and acted gentle and confused me mentally. I think of him often and do not know how to heal. He told me I was beautiful yet he hurt me by raping me. He said he loved me in his own way but I don't know what that means. It hurt me alot and I often find myself missing him. I think I may have Stockholm Syndrome towards him.

Thank you so much. I am low on money at the time and cant afford counseling but I have recently had counseling with someone at my church and that helped alot. Venting is helping me and thank you so much for saying I will get through this.

Yeah, I have no idea how much counseling is but I know it can be therapeutic.... Until then I don't mind listening. I feel my former friends strengthened my listening skills as well as tolerance... Heck, I used to want to be a psychologist. Oddly I'm shooting for being an ota lol

You are kind I just cant feel separated from him in my mind. I think it is because when two people become one flesh. I feel connected to his soul now which is painful. I think it is beautiful that you wanted to be a psychologist. What is an ota?

An OTA is an occupational therapist assistant..they help people to be rehabilitated. As for the guy, I think that's why its important we're careful with who we have sex with ( in your case I know u didn't have that choice) because after sex a chemical called oxytocin is releases and that chemical is what binds you to that person...and you shouldn't be bonded to every person as not every person is good for you. I know its hard but that person isn't and wasn't good for you..

When you can afford therapy you'll realize that.

I do hope some day in the future you'll meet someone who treasures you. And I'm sure you will.

Yes I think what happened is my chemicals bonded to him and made me feel close to him even though he was bad for me. I am sure therapy will help me heal from that. Thank you very much for saying one day I will meet someone who treasures me

Yes I know it'll change, some of my friends expressed having bleak futures and now they're on to greater things
