Yes, I do know the story. I still hold the same opinion.
I said whole story, didn't I?

Please don't be offended by this, but do you mind if I ask how old you are?

And you don't know the whole story, do you?

And I'm the one being 'passive-aggressive'?
There is no context that would justify the murder of 42 children. There is no situation in which killing 42 annoying children is the right thing to do. And even if there were, the one in this story isn't it, is it?

Oh -- now they were 'murdered'?

In that case, I have no choice but to agree with you.

The fact that God did it though, tells me it wasn't murder, which tells me you're wrong.

Alright AV, post the verses containing the 'whole story' then give us your interpretation of it. Show us your theological superiority that allows you to justify the actions of the LORD in this case.

There are no verses containing the whole story.

How do you think I knew CS was wrong?

He makes the same rookie mistake as anyone else who falsely accuses God of anything -- i.e., not knowing the whole story.

Whenever I see anyone accuse God of something like that, that's usually the first thing that comes to mind: 'you don't know the whole story'.

God can justify Himself, it's false accusations that put Him on the Cross.

This is why I do not accept the morality of god/bible. I find it to be repulsive.

We have a story in which an old man gets mocked for being bald, get a little po'd about it, curses them little brats and god sends two bears to devour forty two pesky youts'.

'Moral' of the story, don't mock a man of god, or you might just get eaten.

So, we really can't say anything about God -- true or false, positive or negative -- because none of us know the "whole story," do we?

Only AV does apparently. Why isn't he starting a church to spread this truth that only he holds?

While it's certainly true that none of us know the "whole story," that doesn't stop evolutionists and atheists from having faith and make-believing that they know everything.

"It seems that the evolutionists are convinced that they have found the last word on life, some of us however, doubt that they have the full answer, and so are still searching." -- Dr Milton Wainwright, Dept. of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Sheffield

"The evolutionists seem to know everything about the missing link except the fact that it is still missing." -- G.K. Chesterton
Atheists have their fairy tale and creationists have the Holy Bible and the Mahabharata...:amen:
"Evolution is a fairy tail for grown-ups. This theory has helped nothing in the progress of science. It is useless." -- Professor Louis Bounoure, Director of Research, National Center of Scientific Research

Well, granted, we don't have a book of fairy tales to work with, so we've had to figure some stuff out on our own.

(Waiting for the inevitable "Origin of Species" = Book of fairy tales gag in 3...2...1...)

So let's give God the benefit of the doubt. He decided, in his omniscience, that it was time for these kids to die. When it's God's will, apparently it's not murder. He still executed his will in an incredibly gruesome, inhumane fashion that has us cringing even today. Does that not bother you?

You literally took the words right out of my mouth, therefore I have nothing much to add...

Evolution: an old but useless atheist myth.

"He [Anaximander] said ... that mankind was at the beginning very like another animal, to wit, a fish." -- Hippolytus, priest, 2nd century

"He [Empedocles] tells us also that most of the parts of animals came to be by chance." -- Aristotle, Physics, Book II, 350 B.C.

Everyone knows there are gods in heaven because we can aim our telescopes at Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, etc.

"... the existence of the gods is so manifest that I can scarcely deem one who denies it to be of sound mind." -- Marcus T. Cicero, philosopher, 1st century B.C.

BCSE : Milton Wainwright
"Some agnostic biologists, like myself, are interested in this and other forms of teleology; we call this approach science. It seems that the evolutionists are convinced that they have found the last word on life, some of us however, doubt that they have the full answer, and so are still searching.”

"However, for taking this line, I have been called a creationist (when I am an agnostic) and anti-evolution (despite having provided an addition to the theory of natural selection)."

"Evolution is a fairy tail for grown-ups. This theory has helped nothing in the progress of science. It is useless." -- Professor Louis Bounoure, Director of Research, National Center of Scientific Research
Is this true? According to Professor Louis Bounoure, Former: President of the Biological Society it is? - Yahoo! Answers

"The beginning of the quotation, "Evolution is a fairy tale for adults" is not from Bounoure but from Jean Rostand, a much more famous French biologist (he was a member of the Academy of Sciences of the French Academy). The precise quotation is as follows: "Transformism is a fairy tale for adults."
... Jean Rostand was ... an atheist. ^_^
