They are not monolithic. Not Protestants, and not Catholics either. The difference is we have a very long history of official Church teaching on the topic, within which we are supposed to figure out practical plans of action. If a Catholic comes out totally against any immigration, we can show them the teaching. Then we can work on how to apply the teaching or at least argue about how rather than arguing about why.Thanks. I don't want to be bogged down with this either. It's just a thought that the opinions on the topic are likely not a monolith.
