@SkyWriting

I also got into some trouble with it in the past also, I even had to do some jail time because of it, etc, and it's just not good for me to do it now anymore also, for other reasons I have already stated, etc, something I feel I have repented of now, etc, because it wasn't good for me, and still isn't good for me, etc...

God Bless!

In the 1980s I hoped a pill would be developed to prevent alcoholics from drinking uncontrollably. There were rumors something was being created to help us drink socially. Alas, I was forced to face reality that I would never be able to drink alcohol normally. So with the help from God I have managed to stay sober since 1995. I'm of the opinion God can take away our character defects if we ask for help and truly work to change ourselves. Americans have become spoiled with pills and medicines that often have unknown or worse side effects than the original malady. And our culture is obsessed with instant gratification. God is our cure if we choose to heed His word.

I feel like I have tried everything, etc...

And from God I get the same answer as Paul with the thorn in his side or flesh, etc...

And no offense, but you are 75 years old and probably married for most of that time also, and I am not, etc...

God Bless!

I learned this in ten years of singleness between two marriages.

In Paul's case it assisted his need for humility so there was valid reason for it.

However, appreciating beauty in a woman isn't a problem in itself, but lusting is.

It’s better to find the culprit for ones addictions than sating them through medicine and indulgence. Until you address the reason and gateways you’ll never master it.

The pill won’t remove your lust. It may dull the urge or sensations. But the issue remains.

But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.

Get rid of the problem and you’ll be freed from the consequences of its presence. Lust is usually the result of something else: rejection, loneliness, despair, etc. That’s the strong man.

I thought he was just talking about some kind of theoretical magical (because it would have to be magical) pill or thing that would just magically eliminate all sexual feelings or desires completely, like the wave of a wand, and in that case I would take it right now, etc...

Sometimes I wonder if I'm just not old enough yet, or just have healthy/strong/active libido still, and no partner right now...?

And I don't know that it's an "addiction", as it's not that frequent I don't think, etc, but I do experience some loneliness, but it's not overwhelming I don't think, and I've also tried starving my drive also, but that just made everything much worse, so...?

I don't know, but I have tried a lot of things, and none of them have completely worked thus far, etc...

God Bless!

It is possible that it's meant to keep me humble, I don't know, and I don't have like a feeling in my members when I am appreciating a woman's attractiveness, but I am kind of scanning my surroundings sometimes, and looking, and thinking how hot or else not hot they are, and am evaluating them based on that, etc...

And when I try really, really hard to "force myself" not to do that, or be doing that, then it just seems like things get worse, and sometimes much, much worse, etc....

Anyway...?

God Bless!

Start with the problem and work backwards questioning all you’ve shared and more. You have to go beneath the surface to reach the root. Cause and effect. Trigger and reactance. That’s what you’re looking for.

The process can be done alone. But its helpful to have an unbiased helper. Someone you trust who’s wise and able to speak plainly. They serve as a mirror of sorts. This allows you to gauge your experiences in a clearer light and how your thoughts and actions fueled the problem and continuance.

Whatever you feed will grow. That’s a natural law. When something has the upper hand starvation is necessary. Pouring your heart out to the Lord is a must. But discussion may be counterproductive. It depends on your triggers and response. For some its helpful. Others experience greater hardship.

As I mentioned elsewhere…

Words are seeds.
Thoughts are seeds.
Emotions are seeds.
Actions are seeds.
People are seeds.

Our garden is a reflection of what’s been planted. If you want to alter the results change the seed.

When you grasp the magnitude of that statement and its impact on your person you’ll do things differently.

All seed isn’t good. Consider your garden and what you desire to nurture and stamp out. Guarding oneself takes on new meaning when you understand the principle.

Examination uncovers susceptibilities. Knowing your weak points enables you to pray more effectively and anticipate the enemy’s attacks. He targets the vulnerable place in the wall. Seeing the correlation in your armor will counter it.

Thanks @bèlla

I will think about it more, and try not to be such a pig when out in public, lol.

God Bless!

Maybe indicate your locality - someone may know of a solid ministry.
I've tried almost all of them in my vicinity, but will try and look more, I felt unwelcome at a lot of them, and I don't exactly know why, but maybe I'll try some of the same ones again and see if I have a different experience this time maybe, etc...?

God Bless!

I may joke about it, but it's really something that I really wish I wouldn't be doing, but it's almost like "resistance is futile" sometimes, etc...

And beyond that, only seems to make things worse sometimes, or a lot of the time, etc...

And yes I am a Star Trek fan, etc...

God Bless!

One of the principles I apply in prayer comes from the verse "If we ask anything according to His will He hears us, and if we know He hears us we know that He grants the request that we ask...

So...

I identify His will.

Does he want you in healthy fellowship ?

Yes.

You have identified His will.

Now you can ask in confidence and because this process is in His word you can 'hold Him to it'

By this means you have faith because you acted on His word in asking.

So you might apply this approach to the search for just the right loving fellowship.

The contoversial Stanley Kubrick movie A Clockwork Orange proposed a behavior modification program. Subjecting the protagonist, a convicted murderer, to drug treatments and video viewing to prevent him from behaving violently. Critics have an ethical objection to the treatment because it removes free will from the person. Whenever Alex felt lustful or violent he would become physically ill. And it prevents the subject from having the option to fight back even in self defense. It was neat to see in a movie but real world applications would likely cause more problems than solve them.
