• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm scared, I'm new to bi-polar and I'm scared because I'm starting to get really mean, I used to be very quite and sweet but now the older I get, I get violent and mean and attack people without thinking. I also cry alot and just want to hurt people. I don't know why I'm like this.   I don't want to be bi-polar anymore.

you maybe feeling alot worse than you are actually being. we all struggle with anger or nerves. most people don't know we are ill unless they know us on a personal level, or you have phycotic episodes that harm property and people. at any rate, it is manageable. meds, and we learn with age actually... just like everyone else. ask docyor or counsellor for managing skills list. see our thread too

Dear Marmaladegirl22

After many years of dealing with mental illness with other folks and including myself I found the answer.

The answer to understanding mental illness is you must understand you will never understand!!

It's the actions that I'm referring to.

Now since you are a newbie to bipolar there are important things to do so that it can be gotten under control.

1. Do exactly what the doctor tells you to do.

2. Be patient as there is generally no quick fix.

3. Take each med exactly as directed. There is no way the doctor can adjust meds unless he knows where you are at.

4. Do not stop taking your meds because your doing better. You WILL always be bipolar.

5. If after you get up to dose and the med is not working contact the doctor and tell him to change your med to something else. Not all meds work with everyone. In fact sometimes it becomes a real game of trial and error.

6. Remember your the sick one and has to live with this. So don't be ashamed about bugging the doctor until things get better.

7. ALWAYS REMEMBER:

XEven though you can't see Him, GOD is there!O
( click on the X and move to the O ) ( then feel who is around you )

Dear Marmaladegirl,

Are you living in Japan or just a Japanese? After a period of healing (medical, psychological ,and spiritual), you will get much better. But I don’t know whether you can be cured completely. Bipolar usually is a companion for a long time, even all the life.

Bless, Yusuph
