Dr Phil

That's right, I of all people enjoy Dr Phil. I don't know why, but I'm hooked now. It's kind of frightening.

So what's something that you would never think you'd enjoy, but then later found out that you did.

subtopic: What's your take on Dr Phil?

I love Dr. Phil. He's fantastic...and WAY better than Maury (Maury's practically turned into Jerry Springer), IMO.

And, yes, I'm also somewhat shocked that I like King of the Hill. It really cracks me up, but I'm usually turned off by the redneck humor.

Well...this season of it is over now...but I got really hooked on "Survivor"...and before a couple seasons ago (Rupert's first appearance) I wouldn't even watch the show!

And Wife Swap! At first, the thought of it was a bit *weird*....new wife and mommy? No way! But, then I have seen how quickly it's given me a much better appreciation and perspective on my own marriage and parenting skills/styles! So I love watching it now!

I agree, Dr. Phil may get a lot of criticism but he is one intelligent man I feel. He seems very genuine in his wanting to help people with their over-the-top situations.

I'm not surprised that I love the show, but I am surprised at how addicted I am to Strong Medicine :)

Dr. Phil is ok. But I fear his fame has gone to his head, and c'mon, ya' gotta admit hiz head iz big enuff as it is

For harried parents with out of control children ya' don't get them on national tv and then start off by telling them something they are already excruciatingly, embarrassingly, and quite keenly aware of....that they don't have a clue what to do with their children. (That sher would give me a case of warm fuzzies, what 'bout you?} Give them empathy for how hard it is to deal with children that are so out of control they appear possessed. Congratulate them for not heeding an urge to put em' in a box and ship 'em to the furthest regions of Never-never-land.

It's NATIONAL TV! Helll-lo! Embarrassing people to get them in line mercifully went out with the bumbling dark ages.

Oh, one more thing..if he doesn't slow down when he walks off-camera with his wife at the close of each show....... Did'ya ever notice that she's much shorter than he is? *hint hint*

While there's some "redneck" humor in King of the Hill, you've got to keep in mind - it's a cartoon that's not depicting real life... it's satire! Like The Simpsons, there's a lot that's bad in that but it's merely a cartoon, it's merely satire :)

P.S... i love King of the Hill myself, could care less about Dr. Phil, if he does good things for people then cool but watching is like prying into peoples' lives, sure can make folks feel real good when the people on the show have it worse off, huh?
