I hate intrusive thoughts. They are always kind of shocking and opening unwanted door leaving me at a loss for how to handle them. I have to undo their work each time and faithfully find some security. They take direct attention because I am distracted from my reality. Meds should help to keep you from being too overly excited by them. All I do God has given me to combat the ill effects and stay in the now, instead of thinking about them. I haven’t found a good use for them and just chalk it up to who I amm and just sweep them away by taking them captive and etc.

Yes, I know what that's like and I used to get deep in prayer to save me from those horrible thoughts. May God be with you and get you through this to heal your mind as he has healed my mind. Please pray daily with a humble heart even if it is difficult to pray and read the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John slowly over and over again so you build up your faith in Christ and draw closer to God so this evil flees from you.

You have probably already discovered that trying to fight against those thoughts will get you little, if any real long-term success.

Don’t fight them! Replace them. Sing praise songs when they come along. Quote Bible verses over and over. We are told to do that anyway in the Bible.

Use your weapon. Take your medicine. The Word.
