Well I was told that having faith in Jesus Christ and believeing deep down in my heart he died for my sins that I would rejoice with him in Heaven. So then a couple days ago a person told me if you didn't ask for forgiveness before you died you would go to Hell. But lets say I was in Iraq and I had a sin on me and didn't ask for forgiveness, then I walk over to a bomb and it explodes and kills me. Does that mean I'm going to Hell because I didn't ask for forgiveness? I don't want to live in fear of accidentaly sinning and forgetting to ask for forgiveness.:sigh: But I was told by my Religion teacher when I used to go to school at a building(I'm homeschooled online now) about will I go to Hell if I don't ask for forgivneness before I die. His response was when you die God is going to ask if you want him to forgive your sins and if you say yes then you go to heaven. But if you say "NO!" then you go to Hell; simple as that he said.:) :help:

Whoah!! Logan calm down a minute. Do you want to know the truth? Do you want to know the biblical truth?

Christians are saved by something known as Grace. This is not earnt nor deserved, but freely given to all who ask. The only thing we need to do in order to receive Grace is a sincere faith and repentence. Grace is how we escape Hell and go to Heaven!

Sadly it is true that those who never beleive in Jesus or ask for forgiveness are destined for an eternity in Hell. Its not nice, but neither was the Veitnam war but I know it happened.

However you are obviously misunderstanding how Grace works. Of course a Christian should repent everyday and after every sin. Our lives should constantly be repentence. However this repentence is not for salvation (so we can go to Heaven) but to strengthen the relationship with our Lord.

There is a difference between everyday repentence and saving repentance-which is a one off!

Let me put it this way. I became a Christian last December. I invited Jesus into my heart and accepted Him as my personal Lord and Saviour. As part of that I beleived in God, the crucifixtion and ressurrection of Jesus. I also admitted that I am a sinner deserving of punishment but asking forgiveness. Then I repented. Soon after I was filled with the Holy Spirit for the first time.
It was a wonderful experience and that is when I KNEW for the first time I was going to Heaven for sure.

Now when I repented that evening it wasnt just for the sins I had already committed, but also for all the sins I would commit in the future. I knew back then I would sin whilst being a Christian. And I have- BIG STYLE!!! Christians might sin less than most people, but they still sin.
But here is what is so amazing about Grace. When you accept Grace is covers ALL your sins; past, present and future! That means I was forgiven for swearing this morning by the the repentance I made last December.
Of course if I went downstairs now and smoked a cigerette I should repent of it. However if I didnt it wouldnt mean I would go to Hell if I died a few seconds later. The Bible makes it clear that as soon as a born-again Christian sins they are automatically forgiven in terms of where they go when they die.

Think about this logically. If every time a Christian sinned after conversion they had to repent again or they would go to Hell. Well this would mean even very few Christians would go to Heaven. According to the words of Jesus even bad thoughts are sins. All Christians sin roughly every few seconds. This would mean that a Christian would have to repent every few seconds or burn in Hell. Now come on this is impossilbe. Imagine you were killed as a soldier in Iraq. It is very likely that the last few words you say/think would be profanity. You wouldnt have time to repent. In fact you wouldnt even be thinking about repentance for the words you just said.
If Christians had to live like this then they would be living in fear and bound by the Law of constant repentance. This is exactly what Jesus came to free us from. It is the devil who wants us to feel insecure and paraniod.
God wants us to become His children, adopted into His family.

The Bible states that in order for someone to go to Heaven they need to be Born-Again. The Bible is talking about spiritual birth of the Holy Spirit. Now once a baby is born, they cannot be unborn can they? they cannot stop being the biological child of their mother.

This is how it is with God. Being born-again (receiving eternal life) is something that can only happen once. The Bible has clear support for once saved, always saved! Once you'd received Grace you cant do anything to lose it. Even if I decided that I wanted to go to Hell, its too late! I am going to Heaven whether I like it or not!

Christianity is not a religion in that sense. Its a wonderful relationship with Jesus. You either have it or you dont. Once youve got it you cant lose it (although it may feel as though you have lost it at times).

If you are really worried about going to Hell then listen to me today.
YOU can receive Grace at any age, in any place. It doesnt matter how bad you have been, the colour of your skin or even if you are gay. The Bible promises that Jesus will not refuse anyone who comes up to Him and asks for His love.

YOU can receive Grace RIGHT NOW!!! if you want to, and its really simply to do so. You CAN go to bed tonight safe in the knowledge that you are going to Heaven for sure, if you really want to. From the point of being saved their is no reason to fear death or hell.

So do you want to go to Heaven and know your going to Heaven?
Do you want to become one of the luckiest people to have ever lived?

Then do the following. (but I must stress that it will only work if you are sincere. God knows you heart, so He knows if you are truly sorry etc..) (also if nothing happens, dont worry keep praying. Ask to pray with a Pastor or older Christian)
Right,
1st Tell God that you beleive strongly in Him. Tell Him that you beleive that He made the universe and the earth and all the wonderful things in them. Tell Him that you accept Him as your creator.
2nd Tell Him that you beleive in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus (who was fully human and fully God) and you beleive that Christ will return one day.
3rd Admit that you are a sinner and that the wrongs you have done are YOUR fault and no one elses. Tell God that you realise that you dont deserve to go to Heaven. Realise that you derserve His punishment.
4th Repent for all you have done wrong and all the wrong you will ever do. Tell Him that you will try to change the way you lead you life into one which is more pleasing to Him. Tell Him you will go to church and read the Bible to find out more about Him. Tell Him that you are prepared to give up bad habits and to start treating others with more kindness. Tell Him that you are prepared to change.
5th Accept Christs sacrifice on the cross for your sins. Realise that Jesus died for YOU!!
6th Ask for the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Invite the Holy Spirit into you heart. Ask to go to Heaven when you die and be able to be sure that you are going to Heaven.

Do all this sincerely and you WILL be in the Kingdom of God!! Its a promise in the Bible. This will remove all these fears about Hell you have been having.

God Bless you my friend. I will be praying for you.

Hope to see you in Heaven some day.

You don't need to worry, the only requirement for salvation is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, after that, the bible says we walk out our salvation because we are in the process of 'being saved' until we leave this life.(see above post for how we do this by grace!!)

You can't 'accidentally' lose your salvation, the only way out now would be a deliberate choice to reject Christ, and renounce your salvation

"Logan you don't have to worry about anything. The truth is there is no hell. Ask your self why would GOD our GOD created such a place. A place where you'll suffer all eternity. Did not GOD gave his only begotten son to saves us "all" "

Who do you think you are??? And what have you been reading? Obviously not the same Bible I've come to know!

The bible clearly states that hell is a place, it talks about it being created for the Antichrist and Satan, Jesus Himself talked about hell. Why did a loving God create such a place? because to be a loving and just God then you have to be fair and sin has to be punished, or there is no justice, God doesn't want any human going there, that's why He sent Jesus, to take the just and fair punishment instead of us.

Hi Logan ,

Our salvation doesn't hinge on a minor technicality involving the circumstances of our physical death .

Neither are there any " majic words " which we can utter to change in an instant how God sees us .

When we realize that we are doomed to hell , as natural sinners .

That is a good thing .

For that knowledge prepares us to accept The Atonement God made through Jesus .

Once we accept Jesus and he comes into our life by His Spirit being given us ,

we are now equipped with all that we need to live and serve and please God .

If we stumble , he helps us back up , if we turn away , he allows the devil to beat on us until we come running back for His protection .

He works in our heart and our mind to develop our soul ( our individuality as one made to be in God's image ) , so that we fit right into His Heavenly Kingdom .

Yea , Our God is Able to Save us !

May we praise always !

Amen .

I suppose you dont beleive in the devil either?

I'm afraid Peguero you are a victim of wishful thinking. There are so many verses in the Bible which destroy you universalistic thinking.

"the wages of sin is death" = sin brings punishment
The serpant in Eden lied to Eve when he said "you will surely not die"

And what about 'entering through the narrow gate'?

Lets look at John 3:16
"For God so loved the world He gave His only son that who ever beleives in Him shall not persih but have eternal life. But whoever does not stands condemned already because they have not beleived in the name of Gods only son"

See there is a condition to salvation. If there wasnt then an unrepentant, ungenerated Hitler could enter the kingdom.

Put it this way. If there is no Hell then why do we need a saviour? What is He saving us from? It would also mean that we could do what we wanted and life as we like and get to Heaven without even a change of heart.

I appreciate that Peguero means well. However the Bible warns about false teachers such as yourself. I dont want to threaten or scare this young boy about hellfire and damnation. But it would be unfair to not tell Him the truth.
It would be like letting a child stick their hand in the fire because you thought it would be too upsetting to tell them that fire burns!

I beleive that universalists should not be allowed to give advice about salvation on anything but the Liberal/unorthodox forum. It would be grossly irresponsible of the moderators to allow the 'no hell' heresy to be taught.
Maybe Hell isnt how we traditionally see it. Maybe its not eternal. Maybe more will be saved than we think. Maybe there is a second chance after death.
However some sort of Hell is real because a Hell-less Christianity makes as much sense as an army without weapons.

Ok, Peguero has got it all wrong. Hell is a real place, but you are saved. All you need is to believe in Jesus and accept him and your fine.

Our job here on earth is not to worry about heaven or hell, it is to make this place as close to heaven as humanly possible. In short, its to love God; and love others AS YOURSELF.

As Christians we have the Holy Spirit who convicts us when we sin. He uses our knowledge of the Word of God to show us where we went wrong and the right we should do instead. I don't believe we as Christians can sin and not know it's sin IF we are reading God's Word AND obeying it.

We are told to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17) It is as we develop this attitude of constant prayer that we not only overcome sin but recognize sin the moment we commit it. ;)

Quote:

WRONG - it's too late to ask forgiveness of sin when one is dead -

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

In this life we make the decision as to whether we spend eternity in heaven or the lake of fire.

Bottom line, if you are a child of God and living your life for God, you will not have to worry about dying with unconfessed sin - the Holy Spirit will see to that !!;)

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

I want to know how anyone can read the Bible and still have the notion to say that there is no Hell, I mean I have only read the Bible through once but have recolection of seeing many references to Hell. Yeah God gave His Son to save all and does not want any to go to Hell but that is the reason why He sent Jesus to die for our sins, so that if we have faith in Him and His forgiveness then we are saved, else there is Hell (not "This is it")

I don't know where your religion teacher got that idea...but it sounds a little unsound to me...here's what I believe...
If you have asked Jesus Christ to be your savior and have said that you believe him to be the messiah and the only way to heaven above...I believe that you are saved now and forever and that you can live in heaven eternally....I don't believe that there will be a one-question-ending when you die...I think that you either go straight to heaven or straight to judgement...no this, that, or the other thing...if you're saved you go to heaven, if not, you go to judgement to see what sins you have commited, and then on to hell...You don't have to ask forgiveness for each sin you commit...I don't believe that is necessary...God's blood covers all sins yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever.

Do you really think that a God that loves you so much He died on a cross...would cast you into hell because you didn't have every little sin confessed to Him???

Romans 10:9-10, 13...read these passages and see if it sayes anything about needing to have every detailed sin confessed to be saved...also...

Jhn 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Logan, I am not a believer in "once saved, always saved" (this is my personal belief and not stated to start a debate with anyone) but I do believe the only way you can lose your salvation is to deliberately turn your back on Jesus , thus returning to your old life. Just because we are saved does not mean we will not ever sin again. This does not mean it is alright to go out and sin deliberately, thinking, "oh well, I'll repent later." To repent is only part of the equation, the rest of it is "turn from". Simply put it means to turn your back on your old life and to live for Christ. God knows we are not perfect and He knows we are going to make mistakes, some we may not ever know we made, but His blood covers that if we remain sincere in living for Him.
