I'm pregnant. I am 40 - had a tubal ligation in 1994 - didn't have a physical relationship for several years before my late husband died, because it wasn't possible ... now - i'm pregnant.

Please - if anyone would help me pray that I will stop smoking. I want this more than anything. I need help. I cry because I can't get control of this. I have to stop.

Smoking is one thing the enemy has on us, thats for sure. I have struggled with this for years and years. I hate smoking, but smoke.

My wife got pregnant and it took her about two weeks but she quit. Sucked alot of licorice (did I spell that right?) and was a real charm to be around for about three weeks. BUT....

It went away. She prayed for strenght everytime she wanted a cig. It worked. It was a time out. Help from above.

Dear Lord Jesus,

I pray that you give this dear woman the strength to please quit smoking. I know you will Lord becaus you are the alpha and the omega, and you can do anything.

First of all congratulations on your little miracle. Smoking was not an easy thing to give up for me, but I DID it. Now if I can do it you can. I am not saying that it will be easy but with the help of the good Lord you CAN and WILL quit. Try this, everytime you want to light up a cigarette think about that poor baby smoking it and maybe that will help you stop...I smoked when I was pregnant for my daughter and son and my daughter has asthma and my son was a real small baby, he weighed only 5 lbs. 7 oz. I will pray for God to strengthen you in your quest to put this nasty addiction to rest...May God bless you...

With all the addictive chemicals that the cig companies are adding to their product, it is imperative that you make the ultimate commitment to change (repent) by turning all the way to God. Those chemicals are so strong that maybe only God's power can deliver you from them. Study the New Testament like you have never studied it before, go for walks and while walking chew on candy or candybars. Take one day at a time and do not dwell on the situation. Take the steps necessary to divert your attention away from the addiction because you are not just doing it for yourself now, but for your unborn child as well!
